A Quick Recap:

Metron (def.)- area of authority
Jesus knew His areas of authority!
Matthew 15:24 NKJV
But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
1 John 3:8 NKJV
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
John 10:10 NKJV
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
God has given you authority and responsibility over your own unique spheres of influence.

What Has God Given You?

God has given every person a unique destiny and life-assignment that fulfills them as they fulfil it.
God has given us the faith and the raw materials we need to fulfill that destiny.
God has given you a unique set of talents, gifts, & abilities to be able to reach your potential and complete your destiny.
Matthew 25:15–30 NKJV
And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. “So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ “Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’ “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
What spheres & talents & stuff has God given you?
What has God placed in your life and into your hands that He expects you to use and increase?
Exodus 4:2–5 NKJV
So the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.” And He said, “Cast it on the ground.” So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail” (and he reached out his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand), “that they may believe that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”
Are you able to see the God-design of what you have?
Is it just a stick or is it a enemy-snake-eating, water-splitting, provision yielding tool of God?
2 Kings 4:2 NKJV
So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
Do you see that you have nothing or can you see what you do have?
John 6:9 NKJV
“There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”
Have others said that your gift is not enough?
God is only asking for what you have.
2 Corinthians 8:12 NKJV
For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.

Use it or Lose it - Principles and Lessons:

Using what we have been given = good stewardship
Burying what we have been given = wicked & lazy
Fear is a favorite weapon of the devil to get you to bury what you’ve been given and to abandon it
Do not fear
The phrase “Do Not Fear” is found 419 times in the Bible…do you think that it might be important?
If we don’t use what we have been entrusted with, God will take what we have and give it to someone who has proven they will do something with what they have.
When we use what we have (even things that seem small & insignificant), God can multiply it and make it enough.
Every one of us has something to give:
Gospel of Salvation
Testimony
The Love of God
Finances
Talents
Our life (as a living sacrifice)
Encouragement

Sometimes the best ability to have is Availability!

Just One Thing:

Don’t overlook or bury what you have from God:
Use it in the church, Use it in your home, Use it in every metron you have

Discussion Questions:

What is the biggest near-major accident you ever had?
What are some of the things that God has placed into your hands as “talents”?
Please Read Matthew 25:15-30 from the perspective of being one of the servants in this parable and share what this passage of scripture speaks to you.
What is at least one concrete step that you will take and start date that you will put on using something God has given you?
