Ambassadors for Christ
Representatives of Christ
2 Corinthians 5:20 NASB95
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
Turn with me to I Peter 3:13-17
Vs 13-14
Peter says go out in the protection and confidence that God will protect you
Romans 8:31 NKJV
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Remember Christ prayed that the Father would protect his own from the evil one
John 17:15 NASB95
“I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.
But He didn’t pray that they would be taken out of the world
John 16:33 KJV 1900
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Five ways to be a Good Ambassador for Christ from 1 Peter 3:15

Be Sanctified

But sanctify the Lord Jesus Christ in your hearts.
The NIV puts it this way
But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord
Jeremiah 31:33 NASB95
“But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord, “I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Be Ready

And be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason
To use every opportunity to witness
Christians must exchange the fear of men for the fear of God
Peter the man who missed that opportunity once
Galatians 1:10 NASB95
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.

Be Hopeful

…of the hope that is in you
1 Timothy 1:1 NASB95
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and of Christ Jesus, who is our hope,
Does not Jesus Christ live in you

Be Respectful

…with meekness and fear
Our attitude
Ever been talking to a person who treated you like you were less of a person then they are.
Many Christians see people through their own eyes
We need to see then as Christ sees them
He reaches out with arms wide open to those who will come there is an open invitation
Matthew 11:28–30 NASB95
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Philippians 2:5 KJV 1900
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Be Purified

...having a Good Conscience
James 4:8 NASB95
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
There needs to be a willingness to do what is right
To repent when we make mistakes
We need to fall down on our faces before God
Stop walking around like something is wrong inside and take time to make it right
I Pet 3:11 is quoting from Psa. 34
Let him eschew evil, and do Good; let him seek peace and pursue it.
So are we willing to be Ambassadors for Christ in this world
His Intermediary
His Messenger
His Minister
His Representative
