Listen!

Friday Drive

I Pray you are having an amazing time this new year, I hope you have had opportunities to share the love of God to those in your sphere of influence. As men we spend a lot of time making those we have been place to cover feel safe and taken care of. That is the charge right! The desire to see those we love grow and be in a position to see God, hear God and emulate the teachings of Christ.

Jeremiah 33:3. - Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).

God is always speaking! Speaking things we have no idea we need to hear or even understand. But why would he do that? I believe it is to stretch our faith, have us grow, or maybe help you see something about yourself or certain situations you have or are going to have.

One time Elisa and I were preparing to travel to Central America and have many opportunities to minister in different countries. During prayer the Lord spoke to Elisa and said that we were going to meet the leader/King of a nation. Months later, we finally arrive and we were focused on the needs and ministry to the local communities. Having no idea how God was going to make this happen, we went about the kingdom business. We ended up in a small prison that housed children only. In the middle of the ministry, armed guards walked in by the dozens. We stopped what we were doing, frozen, and not moving. In walks the First FAMILY of this country! The president, His wife and two children! They watched until we were done. The Leader thanked us for being there and left to attend other business. His Wife and two children stayed and helped minister to the kids there. There are many things that happened from that brief encounter that changed the projection of that prison. But I believe, that encounter never would have happened if someone didn’t listen. It wouldn’t have happened if Elisa didn’t take the time to pray AND THEN listen!

Psalm 19:1-4 - THE HEAVENS declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork. Day after day pours forth speech, and night after night shows forth knowledge. There is no speech nor spoken word [from the stars]; their voice is not heard. Yet their voice [in evidence] goes out through all the earth, their sayings to the end of the world. Of the heavens has God made a tent for the sun,

On your way home today, Take a moment and speak to your Heavenly Father and ask him to speak to you… and make sure you take the time and energy, and with expectation...LISTEN!
