Bible Reading Week 2
This Week’s Theme: The Focus of Our Worship
Word for the Week is Glory: is the display of His greatness, goodness, and beauty so that persons are aware of Him through sensory experiences
Memory verse: Psalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Sermon Focus: You should know that there is no other God but the LORD.
Sermon Passage: Isaiah 40:21-31
21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
23 He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless.
24 Scarcely shall they be planted, Scarcely shall they be sown, Scarcely shall their stock take root in the earth, When He will also blow on them, And they will wither, And the whirlwind will take them away like stubble.
25 “To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing.
27 Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: “My way is hidden from the Lord, And my just claim is passed over by my God”?
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand, Measured heaven with a span And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales And the hills in a balance?
14 With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him, And taught Him in the path of justice? Who taught Him knowledge, And showed Him the way of understanding?
II. His Power is Unstoppable
II. His Power is Unstoppable
GOD IS RUNS THE HR OF WORLD LEADERS
GOD IS CONTROLS THE JUDGES
THEIR AUTHORITY IS TEMPORARY LOOK AT VERSE 24
GOD CONTROLS THE NATIONS LOOK AT VERSE 17
17 All nations before Him are as nothing, And they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless.
REMEMBER THE WORD OF Jesus IN Matthew 19:26
With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
REMEMBER Romans 8:31 (KJV)
If God be for us, who can be against us?
Job said in Job 42:2 (KJV)
2 I know that thou canst do everything,
Look at the power of God
Look at the ability of our God
He defeated the army of Pharaoh with ONE swipe of HIS hand
He is able to do anything but fail!
no circumstance can restrict Him
no adversity can hinder Him
no situation can constrain Him
no power can control Him
no enemy can defeat Him
no obstruction can block Him
and no force can limit Him
III. His Prestige is Unmatched
III. His Prestige is Unmatched
25 “To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing.
THE LORD ASKED WHO CAN COMPARE TO HIM?
WHO IS HIS EQUAL?
WHO CAN MEASURE UP TO THE LORD?
VERSE 26 LOOK UP, LIFT YOUR EYES ON HIGH, LOOK AT THE STARS, HE NO ONE CAN COMPARE TO HIS PRESTIGE,
HIS DIGNITY,
HIS RANK,
HIS STANDING, AND
HIS AUTHORITY.
HE COMMANDS OUR RESPECT AND AWE BECAUSE HIS WORKS OR DEEDS ARE SO WEIGHTY. LOOK AT VERSE 18
18 To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?
19 The workman molds an image, The goldsmith overspreads it with gold, And the silversmith casts silver chains.
20 Whoever is too impoverished for such a contribution Chooses a tree that will not rot; He seeks for himself a skillful workman To prepare a carved image that will not totter.
21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
HE PSALMIST TESTIFIED IN Psalm 115:5-7 They are the work of man’s hands
5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:
6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:
7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.
The LORD WAS, IS, AND WILL FOREVER BE superior to ANY IDOL gods
IN COMPARISON THE LORD God ALMIGHTY is in a league all by Himself
He is superior, He is the true God AND LIVING GOD
QUESTIONS ASKED IN VERSE Isaiah 40:21 “21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?”
Jeremiah asked the question 10:7 (KJV)
7 Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? . . . there is none like unto thee.
THIS is the reason why worship Him,
THIS is the reason why we glorify Him,
THIS is the reason why we praise Him.
No one can compare to His influence,
No one can compare to His distinction
No one can compare to His preeminence
No one can compare to His prestige
Apply: HOLY TEMPLE,
No one should get more praise and gratitude
No one should get more respect or thank You
No one should get more love or attention
No one should get more time or service
No one should get more of anything from you than the LORD!
Why?
(IN FIGHTING) He is the Ultimate Warrior
(IN CARING) He is the Chief Shepherd
(IN REDEEMING) He is the Great High Priest
(IN INTERCESSION) He is the Greatest Advocate
(IN PARENTING) He is the Everlasting Father
(IN DELIVERANCE) He is Captain of Salvation
(IN RULING) He is the Blessed and only Potentate
He is Author and Finisher
He is Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending
He is King of all kings, He is Lord of all lords
IV. His Passion is Unchanged
IV. His Passion is Unchanged

GOD DON’T SEE ME
GOD DOESN’T CARE
GOD IS NOT PAYING ATTENTION
THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE IN EVERY PLACE . . .
