Know Him

Seek

We live to know Him and make Him known:

We want you to have one on one and daily encounters with God

Spending time with God daily should be our number one goal every day

If you feel stuck or you lack momentum try meeting with God daily

Matthew 6:33 NKJV

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

We have to seek

Others cannot seek for you

We make Him known

Someone’s eternity is attached to you

Jeremiah 9:23–24 NKJV

Glory in Wisdom- Solomon was the wisest king who ever lived/ King Charles

He literally impressed God with Him asking for wisdom

He had all the stuff, all the girls, all the wealth

Everything at his disposal and he lost his Soul to it

10 The Preacher sought to find acceptable words; and what was written was upright—words of truth. 11 The words of the wise are like goads, and the words of scholars are like well-driven nails, given by one Shepherd. 12 And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh. 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all.

He understood that trying to know everything is a not possible

That in the end what matter is knowing God and keeping his commandments

Man who Gloried in His might:

Psalm 20 - Some trust in chariots and in horses but we trust in the name of the Lord

Remember a champion of God’s enemy?

Goliath? ever heard of Him?

He was born and raised to be might- He was a champion to his friends

All that might and strength and reputation and a little Shepard boy defeats Him

These things might bring you temporary comfort

Mark 8:36 NKJV

36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

Most people are giving their souls in order to obtain just a small portion of what the world has to offer their physical bodies

I wouldn’t trade my life for anything the the world trades their life for everything

What are you forfeiting for peace?

The relationship is the purpose!

Before Jesus, we had to go through other people

Now Y.O.U can go directly to him

What we see and what I’ve seen is a lack of spiritual maturity

Lack of commitment

Lack of momentum

Lifetime Christians that are still immature in the faith

Deal dealing with familiar sins

Stuck in the same type of relationships

Immature in the faith

Hebrews 5:12 NKJV

12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

1 Corinthians 3:1–3 NKJV

1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; 3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

Lack of maturity equals a lack of a daily relationship with God

Daily encounters create momentum It’s the only lasting cure for anxiety.

Be anxious for nothing but in person replication make a request known to God

Everything we need is found in him

It’s not that simple-means I don’t want to do that

For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

God gave us life, we can surely trust him for smaller things

Worry is a characteristic of someone who does not know God

He’s literally saying worry is the characteristic of pagans

Ephesians 2:12 NKJV

12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

How can we avoid it?

Seek First, Concentrate upon the kingdom

Philippians 4:6–7 NKJV

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Guards our Heart and Minds

You’re letting your guard down when you let your mind get out of focus on God

Anxiety rendered aggressively, incapable of dealing with life

3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

Steadfast:

The way that you become steadfast is

Trust is gained through historical knowledge to support

Does your knowledge of God support your belief?

There may be greater sins than worry, but certainly there is no more disabling
