More Faithful than Moses
Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.
The word consider means to meditate.
We should be meditating on who Jesus is, both Apostle (Moses) and High Priest Aaron).
Except He is High Priest after the order of Melchizedek.
This verse reminds me of Ephesians where it says that we are seated in Christ in heavenly places.
He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was in all God’s household.
Christ was faithful to the Father who appointed Him to be heir.
The comparison of Jesus’ faithfulness to Moses’ is simply saying that Jesus fulfilled His purpose just as Moses fulfilled his.
For Jesus is considered worthy of more glory than Moses, just as the builder has more honor than the house.
Jesus is worthy of more glory than Moses even though they were both faithful in their calling and appointed purpose.
Jesus was the master builder of the house, Moses simply served the house.
Without the builder the house does not exist.
Now every house is built by someone, but the one who built everything is God.
God is the source and resource of all things built both in heave and on earth.
Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s household, as a testimony to what would be said in the future.
Moses was faithful as a servant.
However, everything Moses did was a type and shadow of Jesus.
