Introduction

Things that are good for you:
Exercising consistently
Eating a balanced diet with lots of vegetables
Getting enough sleep
Facing difficult conversations
Regularly cleaning and organizing your space
Setting boundaries
Actively and appropriately managing stress
All of these things make vast differences in people’s lives for the good yet many don’t do them.
Maybe it’s because they’re challenging.
Maybe it’s because you have to be very consistent to see results.
Maybe it’s because it takes intentionality and time that most won’t give.
Maybe it’s because people don’t comprehend or understand the payoff of the time, effort, and discipline it takes for these things.
While the things we mentioned for you are good…what about when comes to something that is great for you? What about when it comes to our Bible interactions.
We live in a time where it is easier than ever to get into the Word of God and get the Word of God into you.
Everyone has the Bible readily available to us at every waking moment of the day.
The Word of God in whatever translation you prefer and comprehend better is right at your finger tips.
If you don’t read well, it will read itself to you!
You have access to a greater quantity of quality Bible teaching than anyone else ever has in history.
Why don’t more people commit themselves to the Word of God?
Maybe it’s because it’s challenging.
Maybe it’s because you have to be very consistent to see results.
Maybe it’s because it takes intentionality and time that most won’t give.
Maybe it’s because people don’t comprehend or understand the payoff of the time, effort, and discipline it takes for these things.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 ESV
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Psalm 119:97–112 ESV
97 Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day. 98 Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. 99 I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. 100 I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts. 101 I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your word. 102 I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me. 103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104 Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. 106 I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules. 107 I am severely afflicted; give me life, O Lord, according to your word! 108 Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O Lord, and teach me your rules. 109 I hold my life in my hand continually, but I do not forget your law. 110 The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not stray from your precepts. 111 Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart. 112 I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end.

Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— 13 each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward.
