God Vows- Achan

Achan is a biblical figure mentioned in the Book of Joshua in the Old Testament. He was a member of the tribe of Judah and is best known for his disobedience to God's command during the conquest of Jericho.
After the Israelites captured Jericho, God had commanded that all the spoils of the city be devoted to Him and that no one should take anything.
However, Achan took a gold bar, silver, and a beautiful Babylonian garment, hiding them in his tent. As a result of his actions, Israel faced defeat in their next battle against the city of Ai.
When the Israelites sought to understand why they had lost, God revealed that there was sin in the camp. Achan was eventually identified through a process of casting lots and confessed to his wrongdoing. As a consequence, he and his family were stoned to death, and the items he had taken were destroyed. Achan's story serves as a cautionary tale about the consequences of disobedience and greed.
