PRAY
This is the time of the year when we make our New Year resolutions. Many have already made them and began.
Others thought about it, but haven’t commited just yet.
I want to help you make the right resolutions this morning.

Recognize the Need for Renewal

Hebrews 12:1 NASB 2020
Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Athletes train their bodies to perform the best they can.
They don’t just workout once, they train every day.
The same goes for us. We need to train our faith every day. We need to renew our faith and commitment to Jesus every single day.
Think about the ways and times you have drifted away from God in your life.
What weights or obstacles can you remove from your life in order to help renew it?

Rededicate You Life to Christ

Romans 12:1–2 NASB 2020
Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Rededication isn’t a one time deal. You have to align your thoughts, words, and actions with His will and His words everyday.
What steps can you can to rededicate your life to Jesus? Consider prayer, Bible studies, service to others, and coming to church more often.

Resolve to Grow in Faith

2 Peter 3:18 NASB 2020
but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
Growth in your faith is a lifelong journey. It involves deepening our understanding in His Word, getting closer to Him, and maturing as a Christian.
How can you grow your faith more this year?
Consider men/women groups in church or invest your time in a bible study.
You can mentor someone and help each other grow stronger in faith
Our you can just dedicate more time to studying His word.

Resolve to Serve Others

1 Thessalonians 5:17 NASB 2020
pray without ceasing,
Prayer is vital in your relationship with Jesus. Communicating with God is a great time to refresh, renew, and strengthen your faith.
This is the time to tell Him about your thoughts and concerns along with giving him thanks and praise
Make prayer a regular part of your daily routine. Set aside a special time if you need to. Even if it’s a moment here and there.
Always have something in hand that is greater than your present capacity. The Necessity Of Growing Faith, Volume 31, Sermon #1857 - 2 Thessalonians 1:3

Resolve to Persevere in Faith

James 1:2–4 NASB 2020
Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
You will face hard times and tribulations in life. Even as a Christian.
Remember that God is always with you even in the midst of your trials. Seek His strength and guidance in these times.
Philippians 4:13 NASB 2020
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
This year, lets resolve to grow closer in our relationship with Jesus. Because we can do all things through Him and Him alone. No matter what this year will bring, give it to Jesus
