I Still Have Scars, But They Don't Hurt
Genesis 50:20
2nd Sunday 2025 as we are still in the process of making plans for this brand new year. As we are still trying to hold up to our resolutions that we’ve made. Many of us still have in our minds the things of last year, we have in our mind the things of many years ago. These things are trials, these things are tribulations these things are hurts that we've experienced. We’ve gone through a whole lot as we live our lives and many times as we go through those things that we have experienced while we're living life and while life is lifing along the way there have been some good, some bad, and some ugly. As a result of all that we've experienced as a result of all that we've gone through life has left us with scars. Can I get a witness?
If we were to be 100% real this morning people have hurt us and left scars, we've been hurt by death and left scars, we've been hurt by sickness an illness and left scars, we've been hurt by relationships – SCARS, we've been hurt on our jobs SCARS. EVERYTHING WE’VE GONE THROUGH HAS LEFT US WITH SCARS.
Vickie Winans says “I've been lied on, cheated, talked about, mistreated, I've been used, scorned, talked about sore as bone. I've been up, down, almost to the ground” she said “As long as I got king Jesus, I don’t Need Nobody Else.”
Listen when I was four years old I came running out my house probably being chased by my oldest brother Gerald and I tripped and I fell and cut my tongue and if you look closely there's still a scar today. When I was 12 I used to go to work some Saturdays with my dad at his wrecking yard and I tinker with all the different things that I could tinker with this particular day I was messing with a lawn mower that had three wheels and I was determined to get that lawn mower to start place where the 4th wheel had broken off had left a jagged edge so when I went to try to start the lawn mower that jagged edge scraped against my knee and to this day I still have the scar. In 2010 I have been sick all day finally went to the hospital to see what was going on with me and they told me that I was having an appendicitis attack and that they have to operate immediately period from that operation I still have a scar on my belly 2023 had gallbladder surgery and I'm left with scars what I'm trying to get to today is letting you know that although I have scars from everything that I've gone through they don't hurt.
In our story in our text today the main character is Joseph. And if you know the story of Joseph all that he went through just because of the fact that he was his daddy's favorite. What do you mean he was his daddy's favorite Pastor? I mean his daddy loved him more than his brothers because his daddy had had him in his old age and it was by the wife he really loved.
