Alpha & Omega, Day 14 of 30
Welcome to Day 14 of 30, incorporating the names and attributes of our God into our understanding and our following God. Today, we want to talk about God being the First and the Last.
14. The First and The Last
Jesus reveals himself as the Alpha and the Omega, which are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. It’s His way of saying He had the first word at the creation of the world (Genesis 1:1) and that He will have the last word when He renews the world. Every moment in between, Jesus is at work in our lives and in our world.
Scripture:
Isaiah 48:12 - “Listen to me, Jacob,
Israel, whom I have called:
I am he;
I am the first and I am the last.
Philippians 1:6 - 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
Revelation 22:13 - 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the [a]Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for being The First and The Last word, not only in this world, but in my life. This comforts me when it seems like the enemy will have the last word. Thanks for Your continuous work from beginning to end and Your promise to complete the good work You began in me
