When Is The Kingdom Coming?

V 20-21

the pharisees want to know when is the kingdom coming?

Jesus explains that the kingdom is in their midst

they are speaking to the king

the kingdom of God has never been dissolved

the earthly kingdom that they are referring to

it is the Millennial kingdom where the Messiah will reign in Jerusalem for a 1000 years

there will be peace and justice

there will be no wars

all research an development will be put into making life better

children’s schools will be 80% biblical education

all the nations will come once a year to Jerusalem for the feast of tabernacles to see in person King Jesus

The pharisees are saying if you are the Messiah, well lets get the ball rolling

this has been promised and here you are

so this kingdom what is it for?

what is it’s purpose?

why don’t we just go to Heaven an be there forever?

lets look at 3 reasons that I can think of

the first one is

Satan Is Locked Up

since the beginning of time Satan has been there to tempt

Revelation 20:1–2 LSB

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;

to put stumbling blocks

the world does not know what it would be like without an invisible influence for evil

the world will also blame their sin condition on satan

the devil made me do it

Eve blamed her sin on the serpent

people now in hell are blaming Satan for their being there

so God is setting up a 1000 year period of time for there to be absolutely no influence from the devil

so what happens at the end

Revelation 20:7–9 LSB

And when the thousand years are finished, Satan will be released from his prison, and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

even after a 1000 years without Satan they do not become saints

they are not saved

after a 1000 years of receiving biblical education and coming yearly to see the King the Lamb

they do not accept Him as their savior

and just as soon as Satan comes back they willingly follow him

this 1000 years without the devil will not give anybody an excuse who is in hell

because the devil did not put them there

the next reason that I see is

World Empires

the first empire we see with its leader Nimrod

they were satan worshippers

in the city of Babel

they were building the tower to heaven

with their own ungodly worship system

other world empires

Assyrian

Babylon

Medo persian

Greek then Roman empires

all of these empires were ungodly, very wicked, corrupt

there is no world empire today but look at the counties of this wicked world

which will give their allegiance to the antichrist which will be the most wicked deadly evil empire this world has ever seen

this world has yet to see a Godly world empire

the Father has given many rulers the opportunity to lead

and all without exception has been a failure

Sin has corrupted all leadership

sin has corrupted the world

satan’s influence has caused hate and greed to corrupt the minds of people

Jesus will show this world what a empire of peace looks like

Jesus will allow this world to live as it should

the last reason I have for today is the millennial kingdom will be established for

The Glory Of God

I got this idea from a John MacArthur’s sermon

the first question is

Q. 1. What is the chief end of man? A. Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him for ever.

since the fall man has sinned against God

we look at Israel and the promises of prosperity to Israel if they obey the law

they would not do it

they chased after other gods

they refused to obey the 10 commandments

they blasphemed God

much like we do today

we take the Lord’s name in vain

hollywood has done their best to desecrate the name of Jesus

one actress the other day gave her thanks and praise to satan for her winning her award

last years olimpics was an I love you satan ceremony

for a thousand years there will be a tribute to the glory of God

the old testament saints will be there

the church age saints will be there

the tribulation saints will be there

the regenerated Israel will be there

all giving the glory and honor to God that He deserves

and this coming from this world that today is very corrupt

but there is coming a day that this world will bring glory to God

the way He intended it to be

Luke 17:22 LSB

And He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.

we long to see this day

we want to see this day when Jesus is on His throne in Jerusalem

when we return to earth with our Groom, our King and

but as of yet we do not see it except in our minds eye by faith

until then we we have our commission from Jesus to go into all the world and preach the gospel
