God Who Sanctifies - Day 17 of 30
Welcome to Day 17 of 30, incorporating the names and attributes of our God into our understanding and our following God. Today, we want to talk about God Sanctifying us or cleansing us.
17. God Who Sanctifies
A God separate from all that is evil requires that the people who follow Him be cleansed from all evil. It’s through Jesus and His death and resurrection that you are seen as cleansed, pure, and holy.
Scripture:
Leviticus 20:7-8 - 7 Consecrate[a] yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lordyour God. 8 And you shall keep My statutes, and perform them: I amthe Lord who [b]sanctifies you.
John 17:17-19 - 17 Sanctify[a] them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
Hebrews 10:10-14 - 10 By that will we have been [a]sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified
11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. 14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being [b]sanctified.
Prayer: God Who Sanctifies, You are my source of sanctification—cleansing, purifying, and transforming my heart to look more like Yours. I recognize there is nothing in my ability to rid myself of sin. Thank You for being the One who sanctifies me through Jesus.
