Exegesis of John 4:4—26. Jesus introduces himself to the woman at the well.
Discussion. Questions.
What issues did the woman at the well face in her life?
How did you find out that she had these issues? That is, what did the Counselor do to bring them to surface?
What did Jesus mean by water of life?
How did Jesus develop interest in the woman?
Did Jesus require the woman to repent? Did he say so? Is it implied in the text?
Do you feel like the woman was in crisis?
Must we require people to repent in counseling?
How can we prove that from this text?
More importantly, how do we use this text to help someone who is living with a person with whom they are not married?
What is the importance of pointing people to Jesus for the solution of their problems?
How does this chapter of John make us better Biblical counselors?
