Fellowship And
Breaking Of Bread
Let’s continue on with our Vision for 2025.
“Come Alive In 25”
This year I’m looking for us to dig deeper and grow stronger in the things of God.
I believe the way to do this is by Church Attendance, Bible reading, devotional time and prayer.
We see this in:
Acts 2:42 (NKJV) And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Last week we saw the importance of the Apostle doctrine or the Word of God, the Bible.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NKJV) 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
1 Peter 2:2 NKJV as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
When Jesus was tried in the wilderness, He used the word of God over and over.
Matthew 4:4 (NKJV) 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
This week I want to talk about the importance of FELLOWSHIP.
My classic definition of fellowship, is 2 fellow’s in a ship.
{Can you find a funny picture of 2 people in a boat, maybe sinking or something funny to put up.}
Fellowship or Companionship is a God thing, a God ideal. We see it right from the beginning.
Genesis 2:18 (NKJV) 18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
Even before sin entered the world God saw that Human-kind, needed fellowship, needed one like himself to relate with.
We can have a little relationship with a pet but it’s not the same as with a fellow human being.
When people don’t want to be with other’s, it almost always leads to problem’s in their lives.
They make statements like, I was hurt, or offended. Well welcome to life, even Jesus said that offense would happen.
I like watching nature show’s and it’s always the animal that are by themself that get eaten up.
When we stay in fellowship, it is hard for the devil to get at us.
Think about it, when was it that you fell from your faith or had a hard time. It’s usually when you stopped going to church, or being around others of like precious faith.
The Bible brings out very clearly that as we see the day of the Lord getting closer, we need each other even more.
Hebrews 10:24–25 (NKJV) 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Again look at the Early Church that should be our example.
Acts 2:42 (NKJV) 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Acts 2:42 (NLT) 42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.
When they came together, yes it was for a good meal, but they remembered the Lord’s supper also. They talked about what Jesus did for them.
Good meals and Good friends go a long way, and I believe that the best place to meet good people and make good friends is at church.
Fellowship keeps us strong.
Being with other’s helps us stay strong and healthy, in Christ.
Our Church Vision and Name is built on this.
Praying; Going; Life Changing
We are a family church, looking to meet the needs of the whole family.
Christian Faith Fellowship Church.
This year for Valentines day Friday February. 14th we are going to have a Valentine dinner here at the church. We’re keeping the cost super low, $25.00 per couple, and that will be a great meal and lot’s of fun with fellow believers. Please come, bring your mate, a friend, and have a great, inexpensive night out.
Our church vision was given to me from this verse.
Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 (NKJV) 9 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.
11Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone?
12Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Church Family God loves when His people live in Unity and hates when they don’t.
Look at Loves
Psalm 133:1–3 (NKJV) 1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.
3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the Lord commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.
Look at Hates
Proverbs 6:16–19 (NKJV)16 These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.
Remember we need other’s to help keep us sharp.
Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV) 17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
Have a cup of Coffee or Tea.
So let’s come together, Have a cup of coffee or tea on us, after church, stick around and try to get to know someone. Your blessed so be a blessing.
