The master’s absence is a display of trust to make the most of opportunities, resources, and gifts.
Just because the master is gone doesn’t mean his authority doesn’t exist.
Just because the master is gone doesn’t mean his accountability doesn’t remain.
No matter the amount, the master’s absence implies trust of his workers.
It’s about being faithful while the master is gone; it is not time spent calculating when he will return.
The first two went immediately to work.
The Foundation of Good Stewardship
Jesus is the reason we have what we have. (Colossians 1:16)
Jesus has confidence in entrusting you with what you have.
Jesus still has authority despite his physical absence.
Jesus will hold us accountable for what he gave us when we see him again.
Jesus wants us to use what he has given us to grow the Kingdom.
George Mueller - “We reviewed our primary purpose for this work: it was not primarily for the benefit of the orphans (as much as we truly cared for them). Rather we renewed our commitment that the primary purpose was to demonstrate how utterly faithful God is, for the benefit of believers whose faith whose faith is weak.”
