Leaving a Message for God
John 15:7; 1 John 5:14–15
Preaching Themes: Prayer, God_Presence
In 2009 a Dutch artist set up a local telephone number in the Netherlands and urged people to call and leave a message for God. Johan van der Dong said he set up a phone number with voicemail to give people an opportunity to pause and contemplate life. Callers who use the number will hear “Hi, you are speaking to God. I’m not in right now, so leave a message after the beep.” Van der Dong said, “Like praying, leaving a voicemail message is a way to organize your thoughts.” He added, “It’s a perfect combination for some contemplation.”
I think I’d rather just talk to God personally. I’ve never had to leave a message for him. —Jim L. Wilson and Jim Sandell
In Isaiah 43:1-3 God said:
1 Now this is what the Lord says— the one who created you, Jacob, and the one who formed you, Israel— “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and the rivers will not overwhelm you, When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched and the flame will not burn you. 3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, and your Savior. I have given Egypt as a ransom for you, Cush and Seba in your place.”

How do you feel to know that God called Isaiah by name? Names are important , names can be associated with reputation good or bad. Naming can be associated with relationship to someone, family, or culture.
God name or elect persons, or group of people for a specific purpose, mission, or salvation. Example: In Luke 1:31-32
31 Now listen: You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.
It was vital that Isaiah understood and remembered how God saw them. God named them, a redeemed people, a covenant people. God through the prophet Isaiah is calling the people of Isreal or Jacob how He sees them. God says: I created you, I formed you, I have redeemed you, I have name you, You are mind and I will be with you. What a powerful reminder

In 2 Corinthians 5:17 says:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!
In Christ we are name redeemed, we have a redeemer redeemed relationship to our savior.
This text teaches us the principle that God deals with everyone differently on the basic of Relationship.
Prayer:
Lord God,
I have sinned against you;
I have done what is evil in your sight.
I am sorry and repent.
Have mercy on me according to your loving devotion.
Wash me clean of our iniquity and cleanse me from our sin.
Renew a right spirit within me,
and restore to us the joy of your salvation
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
