Washing Your Heart

Sadly this is a practice commonly under emphasized in many Christians walks nowadays. Many Christians think that if they can pray to God hard enough to sanctify them he will snap his fingers and immediately sanctify you, but that's not how sanctification works. It is a process that you have participate in daily. With this study I plan to shed light and give clarity to how the Lord does this. (because of the name of this teaching you can probably tell where I’m going) Washing yourself with the water of the word

What does it mean to wash yourself with the water of the Word and how do you do it?

The first verses I want to outline for this study is Ephesians 5:26-27. This verse speaks to all of us as believers and the wording here is very important “OF water WITH the word” the water in this verse is in reference to the Holy Spirit. So what Paul is saying is the Holy Spirit is washing us with that word that he has given us. Our hearts are like dirty cast iron pan covered in burnt eggs, and oatmeal. The word of the Lord is the dish soap. The Holy Spirit is the water. Prayer and Meditation is the sponge. Yes the sponge its self can clean some stuff you might even be able to clean the outside of the pan. isn’t interesting how its always easier to clean the outside of the pan than the inside. its because most of the cleaning needs to be done on the inside of the pan. what needs to happen is we need to let the pan soak in dish soap and water. Then scrub it with the sponge
