Vision Sunday Night (2025)

Intro

There are 10 big announcements tonight…

Before we get into the 10 announcements, I want to refocus our attention on what is most important…

From our statement of faith:

The objective of the church is to proclaim the gospel (Matthew 28:19-20), administer church ordinances of Believer's Baptism and the Lord's Supper (Matt. 28:19-20, I Cor. 11:23-34), to build up the Saved through the teaching of Scripture in regular services, Sunday School, media, prayer services, Bible study and revival services, to watch over one another in brotherly love, to remember each other and pray for each other, to earnestly contend for and never depart from the faith which was once delivered unto the saints; specifically the teaching of the Holy Scriptures.

Proclaim the gospel:

Matthew 28:19–20 (KJV 1900)

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 (KJV 1900)

4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

Administer church ordinances:

1 Corinthians 11:23–24 (KJV 1900)

23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Build up the saved:

Jude 3 (KJV 1900)

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV 1900)

58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

We can focus on the vision of these 10 announcements, but if these commands and principles don’t stand at the center of it all, than it will be for nothing…

The foundation of God’s Word is something we can all agree upon…

Abraham Lincoln - “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”

God’s Word can please and satisfy all of the people, all the time…

What do you want to be known for in 2025? What do you want this church to be known for in 2025?

The Corinthian church was spiritually gifted, but carnal. They misused their gifts, but got mad at the pastor for telling them the truth…

The Galatian church started strong, but finished poorly. Paul told them they were “bewitched” into thinking law keeping was needed for salvation…

The Philippian church was a generous church - sacrificial givers…

The Berean church was noble, and a hungry for the Word Bible student church…

The Thessalonian church was a soul winning, witnessing church…

1. Church Theme

2. Building Project Update

Nothing you don’t already know

Church voted 90% to move forward with project and purchase the property

Waiting for the owner to sign the contract and engineer and surveyor being sought out right now

3. 2025 Vision Statement

“Strive for 25%” - to teachers, staff and workers…

Also to church to have some specific goals for improvement…

I’m praying our membership list, people saved this year, people baptized, and overall budget will increase by 25%…

4. Structured & Strengthened Meetings

Opportunity for individual ministries to get together, allow us to be a blessing to you and discuss specifics…

How can we do better, what do you need to be able to do better, what is your vision for your ministry…

5. Church Choir

We have talented musicians and faithful people in our church…

We need to highlight those areas and help them stir up their gifts…

I believe it will bring a fullness to the service and help prepare our hearts for the preaching of God’s Word…

It will give an opportunity for others to see what a godly Christian should look like and how they should behave…

Great opportunity for some to get involved and serve…

Our teachers sign a form every year agreeing to certain standards as teachers…

The choir will have something similar…

Bro. Jaron will be leading this…

6. Wednesday Kid’s Class at 7 PM

In the works still, but looking to offer a Wednesday night kid’s class…

We need to have programs and ministries that will help young families…

This will be directed teaching at the younger age groups and they will have opportunities to earn badges and other prizes as they progress through the program…

7. Praying for a Roseburg Bus Route we need

Bro. Santos agreed to be the bus driver…

We need a bus captain and at least one, if not two other works for that route…

It would be an almost from the ground-up approach

8. Saturday Morning Soul Winning

During time-change when it’s dark and dreary outside, we will be starting 10 AM Saturday morning soul winning…

Hoping for more involvement and better responses at doors…

Begins this Saturday… (no more Wednesday night soul winning for now and no soul winning meal - we will have a small food and beverage for you before soul winning)

9. Monthly Missionary Outreach

Purpose is to have someone from our church reach out to each missionary each month…

I will hand you prayer type cards and you can choose who you want to contact each month…

Try contact a different missionary each month…

The goal: encourage them, recite something from their most recent prayer letter to let them know we read their prayer letters and be a blessing in some way…

10. 2025 Budget

Goal: bring glory to God through wise financial stewardship of His assets
