Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV):
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens."
II Timothy 2:21 (NIV):
"Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work."
Explain the bucket
Water went directly into the bucket - those that have the vision and are ready
That is where the unity lies
Some water may splash over on the other side - those are the people who aborted to quickly and didn’t want to go on the ride.
Some water may have not made it - These are the folks that may have wanted to come but were too late.
When you are doing the work of the Lord, you have to stay connected. You have to be fluid. When you are in the bucket, you may have to move around a bit. You may have to take on other responsibilities.
You think the water molecules, once they got in the bucket, just stayed in one place. No… They were moving around. There is one thing that gets to me is a stagnant person. I look at God and can tell that we don’t server a God who is just still. God is always moving. God is aways thinking ahead of what around minds can even comprehend.
If we want to be unified, we have to be unified together as one. There is no big “I’s” and no little “U’s”. We have to support each other.
Everything we put our hands to, the bible says to do it unto Him. If we put our hands to the plow and serve our Bishop or your local church, we have to get past our feelings of wanting to jump ship. It’s one thing to do what God says or move when he wants you to move but it’s another to move when it’s not your season.
What is the opposite of Unity? Discord, devision, disunity
The bible talks about a three fold cord.
9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Not everyone will go on the ride. Some will poor off on the side. Some will have to make it on the next trip. Some will join in on the fight from the start. When you make yourself useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work, you can do the greater things. However you get in the fight, great is your reward. Great is your fulfillment of the promises. Whatever that promise may be, you will be fullfilled.
There is one goal for this bucket and the water. What is it? Put it in the comments of what you think it is? To draw all the children under it and make a big splash so that everyone can get wet and have fun and be happy.
If we want to fullfil our purpose, if we want to fulfill our destiny, we have to do it through unleashing Unity. Get this… it will come with some difficult times and some fun times but when you are fulfilled and let all the water poor out, you will see what type of impact that you will make by being unified.
Optional: Army Motto
"This We'll Defend" has been our Army's motto since the Revolutionary War. It reminds us that our purpose is timeless and clear: to fight and win our Nation's wars. When our Army hits the dirt, America means business. Our teammates don't want to fight without us, and our enemies are wise to fear us. We are not a Pacific Army or a Europe Army. We are not Brigade-centric or Division-centric. We are a global force that fights when called upon at the scale required.
To do that, we must stay grounded, and dedicate our energy in four focus areas: Warfighting, Delivering Ready Combat Formation, Continuous Transformation and Strengthening the Profession.
