The Judgment Day
The Judgment Day
All people will one day stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
Hebrews 9:27 “And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,”
We will be judged according to the Word of God.
John 12:48 “The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.”
We will be judged for everything we have done (2 Corinthians 5:10), the good things we didn’t do (James 4:17), every careless word we have ever spoken (Matthew 12:36), and every thought and intention of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).
Hebrews 4:13 “And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”
The Defense
The Defense
It is possible to be sincerely wrong in your religion.
See Romans 10:1-4...
There is a real danger of believing in the wrong Jesus or the wrong gospel.
See 2 Corinthians 11:3–4...
Galatians 1:8 “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.” (see 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Mark 1:15)
No one has any hope if they are trusting in their own works to save them.
Psalm 130:3 “If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?”
Ecclesiastes 7:20 “Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.” (see Isaiah 64:6)
The Verdict
The Verdict
Jesus is the only way of salvation.
See John 14:6 and Acts 4:12...
John 10:9 “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.”
The only way to know Jesus and do the Father’s will is to come to Christ in repentant faith.
John 6:37 “All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.”
John 6:40 “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.””
Galatians 2:16 “yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
“Depart from Me” is the worst possible words we could ever hear from Christ.
Galatians 5:4 “You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.”
Matthew 25:41 ““Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”
