What do I believe God wants us to do? To inherit the land by keeping the WORD and WILL of God
Why? It brings success
What do I believe God wants us to know? He wants us to have success in the land He is calling you to inherit
Why? It gives Him glory and us and others JOY
ME/WE
We have been in a series called inheriting the land, the promiseland that God has for you.
For some of us it is inherit…take possession, ownership, dominion, stewship of our spiritual house
Others it is bodies
Others it is positions at WORK, or at home FATHER, WIFE, MOTHER
Other lands
Review we have learned a couple principles over the last couple of weeks.
1. We need to GO
2. Be strong and courageous....giants in the land
3. Forget what is behind…learn from it
4. Press on towards the goal/land…effort
TENSION
Today we are on to the 5th principle, they are two things but they go together and they have more to do with how to have success in the land GOD where God is calling you to go...The question for us that remains is how do we have SUCCESS in the LAND that God has for me?
Did you realize that God WANTS you to be SUCCESSFUL?
I am not saying worldly success, though that may come....we saw that happen with KING DAVID and KING SOLOMON....we will read about KINGDOM SUCCESS more in a moment
We are talking about KINGDOM SUCCESS where the GOODNESS, PEACE, and PROPERITY of GOD COMES....MILK and HONEY
We see this given to the nation of Israel that in order to HAVE SUCCESS IN THE LAND THERE ARE TWO THINGS YOU MUST DO..
Now Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep the whole commandment that I command you today. And on the day you cross over the Jordan to the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall set up large stones and plaster them with plaster. And you shall write on them all the words of this law, when you cross over to enter the land that the Lord your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you. And when you have crossed over the Jordan, you shall set up these stones, concerning which I command you today, on Mount Ebal, and you shall plaster them with plaster. And there you shall build an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones. You shall wield no iron tool on them; you shall build an altar to the Lord your God of uncut stones. And you shall offer burnt offerings on it to the Lord your God, and you shall sacrifice peace offerings and shall eat there, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God. And you shall write on the stones all the words of this law very plainly.”

PLASTER…PAINT THEM…WHITE ON THEM…SO PEOPLE CAN SEE THE LAW WRITTEN ON THEM

SO WE KNOW THEM....WE CANNOT SAY WELL I DIDN’T KNOW
I LOVE PAINLY....GREEK OF NT WRITTEN IN CHILDRENS’ LANGUAGE...
GOD GOS TO TERMIDOUS AMOUNT OF EFFOR TOT MAKE SURE WE KNOW THE LAW
WHY DOES HE WANT US TO KNOW THE WORDS OF GOD....TEN WORDS?
Is it just because God said it?
ALSO DOES GOD JUST WANT US TO KNOW IT IN OUR HEADS??
NO to know in the mindset of Jesus’ day means to also do it
or is there more to it?
SUCCESS…LIFE
Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Two things I want to point out
Be careful to do all that is said not right hand or left hand.
Do not go down the road of adding more and becoming a LEGILIST…Jesus plus these laws, extra things…39 extra laws on Sabbath…you could divorce your wife if she cooks you a bad meal..my wife is to please me
Do not subtract from it becoming LIBERAL…commands no big deal…you can lie, cheat, steal......all roads lead to God.
I WANT YOU TO FOLLOW GOD’S WAYS SO closely that DAY and NIGHT we are meditating on God’s word....I need that....I can read in the moring and by dinner time I can forget at times what I read in the morning....
- God has chosen you!....priase God....in the evening…I am have nothing to offer.

God knows our fleshly tendencies
Often many people of the faith would have three daily times with God....morning, lunch, evening.
We do this because God says it but also because of SUCCESS and life
Pause....don’t mean like instant, it can
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
God’s ways lead to life.
Examples
Does loving others lead to life
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Forgivin others

Jesus says I want you know following Jesus it leads to life
BUT sometimes hard...
It is easy to understand
THIS IS HARD SOMETIMES!
Sometimes I do not want to love....especially when I feel they haven’t been loving to me
Sometimes I do not want to be gracious in traffic with a car that is being not gracious to others
Humble others more than me

World getting in our way....follow the way of the world…destruction…RUIN…here is the thing about God’s ways you follow them SUCCESS and LIFE…don’t follow them....destruction/ruin

How do we have SET OUR SELVES UP FOR SUCCESS and WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?
We become people of the WORD
Be people of the Word
People who hear and read and teach the Word
We set up rhytmns
Preach the word weekly
Podcasts, YouTube, but this is not a replacement for the weekly gathering
Read the Word
Daily or twice a day or three times a day

And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them, and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
