The Answer, Discernment

Romans 12:1–2 “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

How do we develop Discernment?

There are two methods of Discerning the will of God,
Supernaturally & with Wisdom

Supernatural

Need to have sensitivity to the Holy Spirits voice and the Prescense of God
Do this by Cultivating Inner Stillness *Lake analogy*
How long can you guys be silent for?
Secondly, Remove negative barriers to hearing the spirit
This can be sin, anxiety, fear, all of which needs *Repent of Me Focus and fix your eyes on Jesus*

Wisdom

Life Experiences
Humility Learning from Others
Grow through Suffering
*Never Waste an Opportunity to suffer*

Discernment rests on Closeness with God

A relationship with Jesus is rooted in identity, expanded by intimacy, and activated by Faith
1 Corinthians 1:18–19 “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.””

Finally

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
