Introduction: A Call to Wake Up
Introduction: A Call to Wake Up
In Matthew 15:14, Jesus warned, “Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.” These words from Jesus carry significant weight for us as believers, especially in these perilous times. The reality of spiritual blindness is not just a threat from the outside world, but also a challenge within the church. The world is full of spiritual deception, and even well-meaning believers can become spiritually blind to the truth of God’s Word.
As we close out this prophecy conference, I want to bring a strong call to wake up and see beyond the surface of the events around us. We are living in a time where, more than ever, we need spiritual eyes to discern the times and understand the urgency of the mission we have before us.
1. The Danger of Spiritual Blindness
1. The Danger of Spiritual Blindness
Spiritual blindness is one of the most dangerous conditions a person can experience. As we discussed in our series on Spiritual Warfare and Spiritual Blindness earlier this year, the enemy works tirelessly to keep us from seeing the truth. In 2 Corinthians 4:4, Paul warns that the “god of this age” (Satan) “has blinded the minds of unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
Key Points:
Key Points:
• The Devil’s Deception: Satan uses distraction, deception, and distortion of truth to blind the eyes of both non-believers and believers. This affects how we see the world, how we interpret current events, and even how we understand Scripture.
• Blinded by Sin: Spiritual blindness often results from unconfessed sin, pride, and a hardened heart. Even for Christians, the enemy can use worldly desires, comfort, and complacency to dull our spiritual vision.
• The Call to Awaken: The church is called to be awake, to have eyes that see clearly the spiritual warfare around us. Jesus told us to “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming” (Matthew 24:42).
2. The Importance of Discernment in These Times
2. The Importance of Discernment in These Times
One of the primary signs of spiritual blindness in our culture is the inability to discern the times. We live in a generation where many are spiritually asleep, unaware of the significant prophetic events unfolding around us. In the spiritual warfare series, we spoke about the importance of seeing beyond the surface, understanding that what we see physically is often only a part of the bigger spiritual picture.
Key Points:
Key Points:
• The Need for Spiritual Eyes: In Revelation 3:18, Jesus counsels the church at Laodicea to buy “salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.” This is a call for spiritual healing, for believers to ask God to open their eyes to the truth and remove the scales of ignorance.
• The Role of the Church in Discernment: The church must not be lulled into complacency. We need to be spiritually aware, watching for the signs of the times, and discerning what God is doing in the world.
• The Consequences of Inaction: If we do not wake up to the truth, if we allow ourselves to remain blind, we risk falling into spiritual apathy, allowing the world and its systems to define our beliefs and values.
3. Spiritual Blindness in the Context of Prophecy
3. Spiritual Blindness in the Context of Prophecy
Jesus’ words about the blind leading the blind are especially relevant as we look at prophecy today. In our previous studies, we discussed how the world is increasingly blind to God’s truth, and yet the world seeks to lead people in the wrong direction. The church must not follow the ways of the world. We have been given the truth, and we are called to stand firm in it.
Key Points:
Key Points:
• False Leaders and Deception: False teachers and false prophets will arise in the last days, as we’ve seen in 2 Peter 2 and 1 Timothy 4. These false leaders are blind themselves, and they lead others into further darkness. Jesus warns us to be careful not to follow them.
• Awakening to Prophetic Fulfillment: As we look at the fulfillment of prophecy, we see the unfolding of events that were foretold in Scripture. The rise of globalism, the alignment of nations, and the growing tension in the Middle East are all signs pointing to the return of Christ. These are not to be feared, but understood with clarity—when we see these things happening, we should be filled with hope, not despair, for our redemption is near.
4. The Cure for Spiritual Blindness: Eyes Opened by the Spirit
4. The Cure for Spiritual Blindness: Eyes Opened by the Spirit
In 2 Corinthians 4:6, Paul writes, “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” The cure for spiritual blindness is to have our eyes opened by the Spirit of God, to see the world through the lens of Scripture, and to understand the times in light of God’s eternal purpose.
Key Points:
Key Points:
• Personal Repentance and Renewal: The first step in curing spiritual blindness is personal repentance. It’s time for the church to examine our hearts, to humble ourselves before God, and ask Him to remove the spiritual scales from our eyes.
• The Role of Scripture: Regular immersion in God’s Word is essential to spiritual clarity. Psalm 119:105 tells us, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” We must study Scripture, not just for knowledge, but to see and live according to God’s will in this dark world.
• Empowered by the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the One who opens our eyes to the truth and empowers us to live as witnesses to the world. We must be filled with the Spirit, walking in step with Him, so that we can see with clarity and boldness.
5. A Call to Wake Up and Take Action
5. A Call to Wake Up and Take Action
Now is the time for the church to wake up. We are living in times of increasing spiritual deception, and we cannot afford to be spiritually blind any longer. It is time for the body of Christ to rise up in full spiritual vision, knowing that Christ is coming soon. We are called to be watchful, to live with urgency, and to proclaim the truth to a world that is lost and blind.
Key Points:
Key Points:
• Rise Up and Be the Light: We are called to be the salt and light of the world (Matthew 5:13-16). The world is in darkness, but we have the light of Christ in us. We must shine brightly, not just in our words, but in our actions.
• Live with Purpose and Urgency: Our time on earth is short, and the world is perishing. It’s time for the church to live with purpose, to evangelize, to disciple, and to prepare for Christ’s return.
• Share the Gospel Boldly: We must take the Gospel to the lost, especially in these final days when so many are blind to the truth. Every person we reach with the Gospel is one who can be brought from darkness to light.
10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.” For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Altar Call: Salvation, Deliverance, and Healing

“Come and Be Healed”
“Come and Be Healed”
As we come to the close of this powerful time together, I want to extend an invitation to each of you to respond to what the Holy Spirit has been speaking to your hearts. This is not just a moment of reflection; it’s a divine opportunity for transformation.
Salvation: The Greatest Awakening
Salvation: The Greatest Awakening
Perhaps you are here today, spiritually blinded by sin, feeling lost, or far from God. You may not have fully understood what Jesus did for you on the cross, or how His death and resurrection provide you with the only hope for eternal life. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). He came to open your eyes to the truth—that He is the Savior, and He alone offers the forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life.
If you are ready to make a decision today to follow Jesus Christ, to ask Him to open your eyes and heart, I invite you to come forward and receive His gift of salvation. This moment is for you. You don’t have to walk in spiritual blindness any longer. Jesus stands ready to forgive, to heal, and to restore.
Deliverance: Freedom from the Chains
Deliverance: Freedom from the Chains
For others of you, the spiritual blindness has led to oppression, bondage, and strongholds in your life. You may be battling with addictions, fears, or generational curses that have controlled you for years. But today, the power of God is available to bring deliverance. Jesus came not only to save us but to set us free.
In Luke 4:18, Jesus declared that He came to “proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind.” If you find yourself in a place where you need deliverance from the strongholds of darkness, I invite you to come forward for prayer. The chains that bind you can be broken. The light of Christ can shine into every area of your life, bringing freedom, peace, and joy.
Healing: Wholeness in Christ
Healing: Wholeness in Christ
And perhaps you are struggling physically, emotionally, or mentally. Jesus said, “By His wounds, we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). The cross provided not only the forgiveness of sins but also the healing of our brokenness. Whether you’re dealing with illness, pain, emotional scars, or trauma, Jesus is here today to heal you.
Jesus stood in front of the blind man and asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” (Mark 10:51). And the man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” Jesus answered, “Go, your faith has healed you.” Today, He asks you the same question, “What do you want me to do for you?” Whatever it is—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual healing—you can come and experience His restorative power. There is no need too great for the touch of Jesus.
