Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
“It’s Worth it”
Father God once again a few of your servants gathered in your name have come to worship you in spirit and in truth. Father God once again i come asking you to allow me to speak your words with boldness and conviction, father just asking that you allow these words to bring somebody to the altar asking what must i do to be saved.
Today I will conclude my it is a new year series. You know I started with bigger and better, from the story of Jabez , asking God to increase our territory while making us better.
Last week , we came from the Chronicles again with the story of Elisha and King Jehoram, and the topic was shoot your best shot. Today my topic is simply it’s worth it !
The scripture lifted up to day begins with therefore. As we have discussed previously whenever we see the word therefore it is referring to the passage or passages that has come before the therefore. In this particular therefore the Apostle Paul has written to the church at Corinth in his first letter. He has se out in this 15 chapter a pretty good synopsis of the resurrection of Christ , and the the resurrection of the dead. Paul concludes the talk of resurrection with the statement that Christ has defeated death and that the grave has no sting. Oh death where is your victory , oh death where is your sting! because through Jesus Christ we have the victory. Oh where my praisers at , because of jesus Christ we have the victory.
So after the therefore he leaves these encouraging words.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Please allow me a few minutes because i would like to break this scripture down just a little.
My beloved , is the first key ,because he is talking to the church. Those folk who are part of the household of faith. Those who share in the doctrine of Jesus Christ,
Those who believe that Jesus is the son of the living God, that he dies and rose again. That there is love in faith, love each other and most of all love God! Are there any beloved here, anybody who loves my jesus and in return is loved by Jesus , Beloved
Beloved because of our belief in Jesus Christ
Because of our foundations , the word of God . and because of our hope in resurrection, we can be encouraged
Steadfast .
Steadfast .
Be Steadfast! Steadfast is personal. Steadfast is your personal commitment to God. Being Strong in the Lord.
Know what you know , and hold on to it . Be strong in the lord , be strong in his might, do all things through Christ, he is the reason we are going to heaven.
Don’t turn to evil , hold firm to the power of God and saving power!
I hear all the time how there is evil everywhere, from the people to politics but Paul say in the 5th chapter of Ephesians , make the most in these evil days . don’t give up because the world is evil, be filled with the spirit of God! I know there are temptations, I know they are problems , but stand on the promises of God!
Watch and pray !
Stand be firm !
Stand be strong !
Stand be stedfast!
IMMOVABLE
IMMOVABLE
Where Stedfast is personable strength. Immovable is when you don’t let other people or other circumstances turn you around. Where your foundation in the word of God allows you fight off the fiery darts of the enemy.
Immovable is not stagnation, we are not stuck, we change with the times, and move to the circumstances but we never lose the word of God! For the word does not change.
Don’t drift away from sound doctrine, don’t have itchy ears , don’t let circumstances that may be hard stop you , don’t let people speak nonsense in your ear turn you. You can make me doubt him, why because i know too much about him. I know where he has brought me from, i know what he has brought me through and i know what he has brought me too. Can’t do it , can make me doubt him!
I want to be like a large Oak tree , stedfast on the sunny days but immovable in the storm!
Work of the Lord!
Work of the Lord!
Always abounding, enthusiastically working for God. Stedfast and immovable is knowing what you know , and holding on , but working for the Lord is doing !
It is not going through the motions , but it is doing it with gusto , it is serving the lord with joy!
Working for the Lord is showing a sin sick world that Jesus is real.
Working for the Lord is despite this being last and evil days letting your light light shine.
Working for the Lord is putting feet to your faith!
I know you have faith but James says faith without works is dead!
Working for the Lord is doing for the least of these!
Working for the Lord is not going through the motions, but a real time commitment to serving!
Working for the Lord is obeying his words and serving his needs!
. Whenever we have a chance do good!
The way might be tough.
The journey may be long , but work !
Galatians tells us do not get tired of doing good! For we will reap a blessing ,
The word tells us to produce much fruit!
I know it not easy , but don’t stop it is called work for a reason. It is not play with the lord, but work for the Lord!
Some of us are playing, not committing. but remember you reap what you sow!
everyday we must say to ourselves ,I must be about my Father’s business, and this work I count it all joy because it is my father’s business!
Not in Vain
Not in Vain
You see we are stedfast ,immovable in our work because we no that our work os not in vain. Vain means useless. We know that our work is not useless!. For only what we do for the Lord will last! No work for God is useless. No matter how small the act, whether somebody sees it or not nothing done for God is useless. it may arduous, it may be long, it may even be painful, but nothing done for the lord is in vain, nothing done for the lord is useless.
For even is we don’t see the fruition of our labors down here, even if it looks like we are not getting anywhere, there is a blessing with our name on it, there is treasure stored up in heaven. God got you just keep on working! (It’s worth it, as they say working for God does not seem to pay much on an hourly basis but the retirement plan is out of this world. You will get that one later.) If you believe in the resurrection, how can you not work! because of my belief how can I not work. My future hope in the resurrection, in the defeat of death makes me want to work all the more! How many of you think that life in Eternity is worth the effort and worth the wait!
It is worth it!
Ecclesiates says that every thing we do is vain, but everything but work for the lord ! it’s worth it !
Revelations. 14:13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ”
“Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”
It’s worth it church
Don’t rest , don’t stop , for the best is yet to come !

I don't feel no ways tired I've come too far from where I started from Nobody told me that the road would be easy I don't believe He brought me this far to leave me.

Vain means empty, but the only thing empty is the tomb where they laid my savior .
For despite the rugged cross they made him carry!
Despite the nails in his hands

Despite the death on Friday
Despite the tomb on Saturday!
Scripture says early Sunday morning he got up!
He got up with all power!
Because he got up
I can stand against the pressures of life
Because he got up I don’t fear death, Oh death where is thy sting , oh death where is thy victory!
Because he got up I have the victory
Because he got up I have hope, and my hope is built on nothing less that Jesus Christ and his righteousness.Because he got up I can serve now and see him later.
Because He got up I can suffer now but rejoice later
Because he got up if i die now i will be raised later,
Because he got up I may have thorns now but I will have a crown.
