opening:

In 1943 Robert L. Scott wrote the book, “God is my Co-Pilot” It became so popular that it was turned into a a movie in 1945:

It was an autobiography that recounts Scott’s service with the Flying Tigers and the United States Army Air Forces in China  and Burma during World War II..

It is a wonderful thought but it is also ALL wrong. God should not be in the co-pilot seat but the pilot seat. It is time to change seats with God.

Your life must be based on trusting God has the best plan for your life

Read Proverbs 3:5

Proverbs 3:5 NLT
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

To trust means to be confident that God’s plan for us is the only right plan

Lean on means to put your full weight against something or someone that can give support.

Ultimately, God should be trusted and leaned on, for he will never fail.

After trusting God and leaning on God, we then need to acknowledge HIM and seek HIS will so he will put us on the right path.

Read Proverbs 3:6

Proverbs 3:6 NLT
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Acknowledge: A verb meaning to know, to learn, to perceive, to discern, to experience, to confess, to consider, to know people relationally, to know how, to be skillful, to be made known, to make oneself known, to make to know.

The most basic meaning is to know someone relationally.

We need to have a an ever strengthening and growing relationship with God.

It is time to change seats with God

If God is your co-pilot then you have control of the wheel. You set the navigational course. The responsibility of a successful ending ends with you. God is just there for emergencies and assistance.

That is a path of disaster. God needs to be in control of the wheel because he knows the obstacles ahead. God must set the course because HE has a plan and a purpose for our destination. God has already guaranteed our success with HIS Son but we need to believe and follow Him.
