The more you read history it seems that every era has its own "golden age". Early civilizations from early Mesopotamia to the classical Greek city-states are extoled by historians. The Romans had several "golden ages" and the Islamic "golden age" is vaunted for advancements in mathematics and shielding scholars from Europe who fled invading hordes. Now many conservatives are calling for the implementation of policies they asser will produce an economic "golden age" Where is God in all this and what should Christians think, say and do to harness the optimism?
