I would rather be a doorkeeper at Colonial
To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah.
How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts!
My soul longs, yes, faints
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and flesh sing for joy
to the living God.
Even the sparrow finds a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young,
at your altars, O Lord of hosts,
my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house,
ever singing your praise! Selah
Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
in whose heart are the highways to Zion.
As they go through the Valley of Baca
they make it a place of springs;
the early rain also covers it with pools.
They go from strength to strength;
each one appears before God in Zion.
O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
Behold our shield, O God;
look on the face of your anointed!
For a day in your courts is better
than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold
from those who walk uprightly.
O Lord of hosts,
blessed is the one who trusts in you!

Than a thousand elsewhere.
I’d rather be a doorkeeper at Colonial
Than Dwell in the tents of the wicked
Doors open up to things. Doors swing on a hinge. hinges hold the door up when it’s closed but most importantly, when it’s open. Otherwise it would just collapse on itself.
That’s why our kingdom builders are,
**photo from Caleb.
They are Psalm 84
They testify to something greater than themselves.
But the kingdom builder knows that what they have the potential to do is to see a door of opportunity emerge for a church in a place. There were amazing door holders in Corinth, and Paul know that
The apostle Paul speaks of a door as well:
I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia, and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go. For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
KINGDOM BUILDERS ARE THE DOORKEEPERS AT COLONIAL
-They have the ownership of the place (did you know that you can be just as much invested in this place as Jill and I are?)
-They open things up
-They create opportunities
-They’re blessed to be a blessing to others
-They protect the flock & stand against the adversaries
Today’s message, a call to contribute was a big one for us as kingdom builders.
As doorkeepers
As opportunity creators
As conduits of blessing
The call to contribute is for all of us tonite: I would like our doorkeepers, our kingdom builders to lead the way with make room. If you have a heart to give, you have a heart to make room, this is your moment. And when the team comes and leads we want to pray for you….
Here is the door thats opening up and I am not leaving:
Our county is doubling in size. In the next 5-10 years it’s going to be roughly twice the size. Not good for the roads but good for the church
Permits are out there for construction on 207 alone that will bring at least 20,000 Residents.
The development next door I just found out is student housing for Flagler college. 270 units potentially for up to 800 students.
People are coming back into church, and many people are just showing up because they are not finding anything real in teh world or the online world.
MY QUESTION TONITE IS WILL YOU BE A DOORKEEPER AT COLONIAL. Will you take up
Phase 1 we are half way through seeing the funds comes in
Phase 2 is where we need to see our kingdom builders lead the way. Next week we’re asking our whole church to commit on commitment Sunday to make room.
