His Spirit - Day 27 of 30

Welcome to Day 27 of 30, incorporating the names and attributes of our God into our understanding and our following God. Today, we are looking at Jesus Christ as the Spirit of God within us.

27. Spirit of The Lord

In the Old Testament, you can see how the Spirit of the Lord would come upon specific people for specific times. Following Christ’s death, resurrection, and ascension, the Holy Spirit is now available to everyone who calls Jesus Lord and lives in His followers.

Scripture:

1 Samuel 16:13 - 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah

Luke 4:18 -

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

Because He has anointed Me

To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me [a]to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives

And recovery of sight to the blind,

To set at liberty those who are [b]oppressed

2 Corinthians 3:17 - 17 For we are not, as [a]so many, peddling[b] the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.

Prayer: Spirit of the Lord, thank You for the gift of You living in me. Help me to listen to Your counsel as I walk through this day and make choices which bring glory to Your Name rather than grieve Your Spirit within me.
