· 15 views[NOTE TO TEACHER] This lesson will focus on Jesus' Commission to us in the Gospel of Matthew. We will revisit the examples of the missionaries we studied in the book of Acts to fulfil the Commission. Throughout the book of Acts, the Apostles demonstrated what it looks like to partner with God through prayer and obey the command to “go.” As followers of Christ, we are called to be people of prayer and people of action. So you must shift your mindset and take time to pray, asking God to reveal the mission-field He is calling you to.

In the month of January, we are reflecting on important take-away’s and themes in the book of Acts, with each lesson written by a different teacher from one of our house churches. This lesson was written by Sherry Richards.
The book of Acts is the story of the early church obeying Jesus’ command to “go into all the world and preach the gospel.” In this lesson, we will explore this command. We will be challenged to take the Good News to those around us.

Question to consider as we read:
How can we put Jesus’ command into practice in our modern lives?
16 The eleven disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped, but some doubted. 18 Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
