Isolation that IT forces
Hebrews 12:1–2 NIV
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles
Let “IT” Go: What is your it, It causes shame, It causes bitterness, and It can cause us to isolate.
Isolation generally refers to the state of being separated from others, whether physically or emotionally. It can manifest in various ways:
Physical Isolation: Being physically separated from others, such as living alone or being in a remote location.
Social Isolation: Lacking social connections or interactions, which can occur even in populated areas.
Emotional Isolation: Feeling disconnected from others emotionally, despite potential physical proximity.
Genesis 2:18 NIV
18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
Alone / Do you notice this is not up for discussion? It ends with a period.
I am an introvert. I am better off by myself.
Babies that are put in isolation: Isolation can have profound and enduring effects on babies. Here are some of the key impacts:
Impaired Brain Development: Social interactions are crucial for brain development during the first few years of life. Lack of interaction can hinder neural connections, leading to cognitive delays.
Social and Emotional Development: Babies need to be held, spoken to, and engaged with. Without these interactions, they might experience deficits in social-emotional skills, such as forming attachments and managing emotions.
Health Issues: Prolonged isolation can activate stress responses, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and other health problems later in life.
Delayed Motor Skills: Isolation can result in delays in both gross and fine motor skills due to the lack of physical engagement and play.
Increased Stress Levels: Isolation can elevate stress hormones, affecting a baby's immune system and making them more susceptible to illnesses.
Where did we get the idea of isolation?
Genesis 3:7–10 NIV
7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. 8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” 10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”
They hid / so I hid
And that is exactly what we do - we hid when something is wrong.
Hiding from God and others is not the solution.
Hebrews 10:24–25 NIV
24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Proverbs 18:1 ESV
1 Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.
