Wrapping Up 21 Days of P+F
Wrapping Up 21 Days of P+F
WEEK 1
THE SPIRIT OF GOD BRINGS LIFE THROUGH JESUS
5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. 6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.
When we confess Jesus Christ as Lord,
the Spirit of God brings the life of Jesus
into us, and us into the life of Jesus.
The Holy Spirit begins a lifelong work
within us, leading us to deny the works
of our sinful nature, enabling us to live
as a new creation and testifying to our
identity as children of God.
REBORN
WASHED
COVERED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT…THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOR!
This is known as The Inward Work of the Spirit
WEEK 2
WE NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT EVERYDAY
and God’s desire for us is that we
“be conformed to the image of His Son”
(Rom. 8:29, NKJV).
29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
We can know if we are a disciple of Jesus.
How?
Jesus told those who believed in Him,
“If you continue to obey my teaching, you are truly my followers” (John 8:31, NCV).
WEEK 3
WE ARE CALLED TO BE THE PRESENCE OF JESUS IN THE WORLD
The church is called to be the very
presence of Jesus in the world.
Through the church...
God is instilling the world with His life and love.
What does the church offer?
A physical experience with a transcendent God.
The world needs something more significant than religion; they must experience God.
Prayer, unity, passionate love for Jesus and a dependence on the Holy Spirit are all hallmarks of a people living out their calling.
What is a church?
Not a building, location or even a meeting, but a “spiritual house” made of “living stones,”
Scripture says.
5 And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.
What makes our places of worship sacred?
What’s so special about gathering in a sanctuary or living room or coffee shop or school cafeteria?
Where’s the value?
Is it the place?
Is it the people?
The value of our worship gatherings is found in the One whom we gather to worship.
The church is the very presence of Jesus in a people. This means we, the church, are not just a group of people with common beliefs.
We don’t just meet once a week because we enjoy the same style of preaching or the same worship songs. We are spiritually united by the presence of Jesus in our lives and in our midst when two or three of us gather in His name.
Together, we are “living stones” being built into a spiritual house—a house that is not a sanctuary, coffee shop, living room or cafeteria. In
this spiritual house Immanuel, God with us, dwells.
thus… we can be bold as lions!!!
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
A NEW WEEK
Power to live in the fullness of God’s love
Have You ever been to the Grand Canyon?
What a trench?
What if it was filled with your favorite soda or beverage?
A Lifetime of Dr. Pepper or Pepsi--wow!
WHAT IF IT WAS FILLED WITH LOVE?
Could you imagine the line of cars coming to get a truckload of Love!!
“Ministry and following Jesus don’t always have to be hard,”
The Bible doesn’t suggesting the life lived in Christ is never going to be challenging—that’s foolish thinking.
Instead, it means that Christ’s love is so massive that, if we allow it, He will overwhelm us with the glory and grandeur of His love.
A Grand Canyon of God’s Love
How GRAND is that?
That love will fill our hearts with a joy that can only come from the indwelling Holy Spirit, revealing Himself and His goodness to us in ever-increasing ways.
16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources:
he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

Grit is said to summon both passion and perseverance in service of a long-term goal.
It's a marathon, not a sprint, as they say.

Inner
Toughness
When we find PASSION in Christ, we will find that we have been empowered by the Spirit of God, and that He has given you an inner strength to ride out this journey of faith that you have begun.
17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him.
Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
The only problem about using the Grand Canyon as an example— is that it has walls.
It is finite while God is infinite.
18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
Many of us sang that fun kids song “Deep and Wide” not knowing what His love is all about.
Nevertheless I contend His love is so pure, so intense that in all actuality we just need a cup and it will last eternity.
19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
LAST THOUGHT
FULLNESS AND LIFE COME FROM GOD!
When we enter into the Knowledge of God and understand by His Spirit what Jesus has done for us--TRUE LOVE flows over us and we are changed.
We stay in the vine and we will never go doubting!!
5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
