What Limb are we?
we are limbs
Same, different?
One, many?
divided, united?
neither...
rather both
limb
part of body
Today
St. Paul tells who are in Christ,
parts of His own body
unified but diverse
If think too much equal:
as if some giant eye
giant ear
giant hand
If think too much diverse
each little islands
own little thing with gulf of sea separating us
In pure diversity no connection
In pure unity, no individuals
Rather we are body of Christ
one body different limbs
For us
We are one, and yet different parts
One (part body):
same moral law applies to all
same human obligations
as Paul
Gal 3
, no
gentile jew
slave free
male female
but in Christ ONE
But not same, but one body w/ parts
Different (a type of limb):
each limb different
serves whole, but different way
THIS one of big questions life:
one body part are we?
aren't all same part, stupid and blind see all same
why judging yourself or another same standard outside morality is silly
EXAMPLES
judge yourself not seeing when ear?
judge someone not hearing when arm?
cease!
we all own gifts and roles
Question what part/limb is question vocation
what called to?
we are all called.
realize that.
And Dont be ashamed of role or proud of it.
all one body after all.
WHAT IS YOUR VOCATION?
Conclusion
all limbs of body
unified, but different
uphold the integrity of the body and find out what limb you are.
Notes:
Me
probably body
each own talents
stupid judge by others b/c have own task
ironic because makes us united in body, but not to judge self by others or others by self
Divisions, cause opportunity for love
as ccc 791, this unity produces charity
Commentators
