These are human needs of survival…

If these things got taken away from you…How would you respond?

20% of the population in the United States is being treated for anxiety…1/5th…Over 40 Million People

That is a way larger number if you factor in those who struggle with anxiety and are not being treated…

Today we are going to see how Jesus tells us to respond to worry and anxiety…

Don’t Be Anxious About…Your Life (v25a)

What is life anxiety?

Worrying about your physical existence.

Worrying about dying…and the repercussions of dying.

I struggled with this in my late 20’s…(what will happen to my wife, my kids, I wont get to see them grow)

Why Not worry about your life?

As a Christ follower you need to come to this realization…your life doesn't belong to you…

You can do nothing to extend your life…so why worry???

Is life not more than food?

Inflation is crazy right now? How am I going to feed myself/my family?

What if I lost my job and cant afford food?

This is a valid worry right parents?

They toil nor spin (they do not burdened by making their own covering…by no human effort the Lord provides their covering)

YET NOT EVEN SOLOMON LOOKED AS GOOD (A King with all at his fingertips, on His best day, dressed in the best the world had to offer, couldn’t even come close)

He clothes the grass…that when it dies gets gathered up and burned every year…

HOW MUCH MORE WILL HE CLOTHE YOU!!!

The Cure For Worry (v33-34)

Philippians 4:11–13 “Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Philippians 4:6–7 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19 “ my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

JESUS IS THE ANSWER!!!

HE IS THE CURE FOR WORRY!!!

SEEK FIRST JESUS AND HIS KINGDOM!!!

Let nothing burden your mind before you seek the Kingdom

This is you seeking first HIS RULE, HIS WILL, AND HIS AUTHORITY FOR YOUR LIFE!!!

ITS A DAILY REMINDER THAT HE IS SOVEREIGN, HE IS IN CONTROL, WE BELONG TO HIM!!!

WHEN WE DO THIS WE ARE SAYING TO THE LORD…”WE TRUST YOU, WE HAVE FAITH IN YOU, YOU ARE THE LORD OF OUR LIVES”

BIG IDEA: Before all things and in all things…Seek Jesus

WHY NOT WORRY?

BECAUSE THE LORD HAS TAKEN CARE OF OUR GREATEST NEED!!!

GIVE THE GOSPEL HERE!!!!

Communion

We need the constant reminder of what He did for us out of His love for us!!

And so as we end our time in worship and move into our text this morning…

Lets first take time to remember exactly how we became blessed…

Together as a body of believers, we are going to take communion…

Not just as a ritual, but because we need this constant reminder of Christ’s love for us!

THAT HE SHOWED ON THE CROSS!

We are going to take a little bit more intentional quiet time as a church body to pray and remember Jesus’s death on the cross, the blood spilled that gave us eternal life!

AS WE CONTINUE IN WORSHIP THROUGH COMMUNION…

Now, Communion is a time for those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone.

If you have not trusted Jesus with your eternal salvation, I ask that you not partake, but instead take this time to reflect on the truth that Jesus died for your sins on the cross, and through His resurrection you can live eternally with Him!

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11,

“For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for[f] you. Do this in remembrance of me.”[g]

He goes on to say…

25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

Take this time to reflect, remember, and worship in your seat and when your ready come up take the bread and dip it into the juice and take your communion with the Lord!

Then we will continue in worship…
