a comprehensive conception of the world, it is a filter through which one sees and interprets all of life that informs thoughts and actions.
without it we cant understand what we are seeing in front of us
without it we cant respond the write way

The Parable of the Weeds

27 And the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’

29 But he said, ‘No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, “Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”

2 farmers sowing seed
one sows good seed and the other is a hater
this was common where there was beef( conflict)
when grain and weed grew together you couldn’t tell the difference
by the time they would blossom the roots would be intertwined
and if we pull up the weeds there was a 100 percent possibility that you would pull up the good grain as well.
but wait until its time to reaper the rewards of our efforts then the reapers will seperate the weeds and the wheat.

The Parable of the Weeds Explained

hungry as a followers of jesus
the more time you spent with jesus the hunger you become
get a understanding
you cant apply something that you dont understand

37 He answered, “The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, and the good seed is the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, 39 and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.

Jesus is the sower and the field is his
Jesus identifies that he is the one who is responsible for sowing
Jesus is the one who draws the hearts of men to himself in the world
the statement of him owning the field signify that he has bought , he has bought cultivated and is responsible for stewarding his field,
the responsibility falls on him not you
The Good Seed are the sons of the kingdom
it reminds up that we have been planted by him
in this generation
in this time
in that family
it wasn’t a mistake that you born
it was by his divine design
The weeds are the sons of the evil one & The devil is the enemy who has sown them
this is the part we don’t like
anyone who is not a follower of christ is the a son of the devil
just because your moral doe not mean you are his.
morality dosnt make you good
there is no middle ground
The devil has sown them so they belong to him
The harvest is the end of the age & reapers are angels

40 Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. 41 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, 42 and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

This is uncomfortable. Why?
I believe that uncomforablity is why the disiciples came back and asked jesus to run it back
its the same tension that we face when we think about the people in our life who arn’t following christ
we want heaven to be a club where every one is let in, becuase they are morally good
in every conversation about hell how do i explain to my love ones in a way that shows compassion and understanding without sounding like a jerk.
how can a good and loving god sent his creation to hell?
Point 1 Love and Justice Coexist
"A truly loving God must also be just."
Love without justice would ignore evil. God’s justice ensures wrongs are addressed, while His love offers a way out through grace.
Learning About Context Personal Story
When i first jumped into youth ministry i found myself always in the middle of students and parents
Often times students would come and tell me stories about how their parents treat them or whatever
And i would believe them and id back them and be angry with them
Until i got time to speak with the parent , i found the details that the student chose to leave out
What i was missing was context
because i didn’t have context i walked into the middle situations without a proper understanding of what was actually taking place ( the full picture)
In this parable we don’t have context
without context we assume God is cruel and unjust
we need the full story
Creation & The Fall
God creates heaven and earth
There Is No Hell
There Is No Pain, No Sin
The Garden Is Depicted A Place Where Heaven And Earth met
Man Chooses To Rebel
in choosing to side with the devils postion we inherted his same punishment
Hell Is Depleted As The Reward For Those Who Choose To Be Sepearte From God
In Matthew 25:41, Jesus says that hell was prepared for the devil and his angels.
Point 2 : Hell is a Choice, Not Just a Sentence
"God doesn’t send people to hell; people choose to reject Him."
God respects human free will. Hell is the result of choosing separation from God, not God forcing anyone into punishment
i know a lot people who would disagree, they well its not really a choice is the only choice is him.
Have You ever heard of a soverign citizen
is a citizen who lives in a country but refuses to akdowlege the authority and the relazation of that country.
the have no goverenment issued anything, they belive our goverenment is made up.
but reality is that if you want to be here your gonna have to follow the rules that were made or you are a crimanal and in complete rebellion against it.
and even in our rebellion

Point 3 God Offers a Way Out

"God doesn’t desire anyone to go to hell—He offers salvation to everyone." As stated in 2 Peter 3:9, God is patient and desires all to come to repentance.
Hell is avoidable through Christ’s sacrifice.
The Redemption Plan to redeem his creation
regardless of mans choice he provides opportities for man to receive salvation and comeback into relationship with him
And God send his son to die for man, pay the penality
and now what man has to do is die to himself and identify with Jesus
some will and some wont
yet he still delays because he cares , there a greater haverst the longer he waits
heres the cold part he wont wait forever
Consummation( the complete or finalized a act)
while god is loving and just
he will not let humans or the evil corrupt his world forever
this is about reuniting heaven with earth and God living with his people forever and giving the creation its choice
Hell description
jesus is explaining the parable using the book of daniel
Matthew 8:12: "The sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Matthew 13:42: "And throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Matthew 25:41: "Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.’"
Just because something is a metaphor dosn’t mean that its not real
the reason we try to use metaphor is because it too real
Heres what we do know:
Torment
Regret
Sorrow & Greif
Anger
All of this is to get hell out of his creation
Most of us can agree that there are somethings that need to be expelled of earth
WE: abuse, child molestation, sex trafficing
GOD: Lust
WE :Racial Injustice, Murder
GOD: JEALOUSLY , ENVY, CONTEMPT, SIN
This is why we need context because when you step back and look at the whole picture i thinks its more the easy to see that God is just and Fair in his decision.
The purpose of this parable highlights isn’t to glorify hell and dwell on it
its to let you know there is a time limit
and that God in his compassion is delaying judgement because
he wants the best return, he wants more people to get into heaven
The question that we have to ask ourselves is
what the parable provoke me to do?
this parable both challenges us Challenge and brings Hope :
Preach the Gospel: "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come" (Matthew 24:14).
Make Disciples: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19).
The good and bad news is that time is running out, this is why the truth was given to the disciples
this should prompt us to know our bible, memorize it, learn how to defend it, answer the questions that are in heart?, proclaim and be a witness to the people we know.
you don’t have to be a pastor to preach, you don’t have to know everything to lead someone to christ
EX John
you never know what God will use.
