The title of my message this morning is Faith over fear.
touch somebody and say faith over fear
I want to preach a word for someone this morning that will realign you back to God as the centre of ourlives. That whatever the devil throws at us we will choose faith and not fear.
A couple weeks ago i preached a message out of the book of numbers on breaking through this year in all areas. I want to pick up a portion of that message and preach from the book of numbers. If you have your bibles with you, turn with me to Numbers 13:26 .
if your there say im here.
To give abit of context to this passage Abraham is promised a land (the promise land) which is passed through Isaac and then Jacob. It is then passed to Jospeh where the decendants of Abraham (the israelites) are now slaves in Egypt. Moses is risen up by God as the leader to lead the people out of egypt and into the wilderness where they are to journey to the promise land promised to Abraham.
The israelites then send 12 spies into the promise land to scout out the area.
the spies spent 40 days scouting the land and then make their way back to Moses to share a report.

Main text
They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and to the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land. They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan.”
Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.”
That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud. All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them, “If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness! Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”
1. What news are you feeding on?
1. What news are you feeding on?
There were two responses to the report, there were 10 spies sowing fear and there were 2 others Caleb and Joshua who sowed faith.
Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
We need to silence every lie from the enmey.
if all we see is fear in ourlives, we might need to silence
2. Who are you surrounding yourself with?

But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size.
But two out of the eight brought good news (Caleb and Joshua) who eventually were the only ones allowed to enter the promise land. You know we live in a day and age where good is evil and evil is good.
That means not everything you stand for is going to be liked by the majority. they had 2 people out of the 12 that came in the opposite spirt of fear. Your decision to follow Jesus is a celebration in Heaven but not always going to be a celebration on earth. You might have 1 other person whos happy for you but 10 other people who are not.
It might be just you and your wife that make a stand for God and everyone else is fake happy for you but really want to see you come back to a life of sin. In those moments you stand on the word of God, You declare to everyone that if God is for me who can stand against me. When the enemy comes in like a flood God will raise a standard. Come on somebody, when your out in the world and you see the enemey leading people one way but you go another way.
because we are in the world and not of the world. We dont conform to the pattern of this world but are transformed by the renewing of our minds. We dont allow the fears of the unseen determine our next step, because we dont live by fear, we live not by sight but by faith.
That means we trust the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, in all our ways (not some) we submit to Him. And the promise is what? He will make our paths straight. If we are not walking in a straight line or being pulled by all directions, we need to ask oursleves are we trusting Him.

Conclusion
Fear is false evidence appearing real.
fear is a feeling
For we live by faith, not by sight.
As i close this morning i want to encourage us to put our focus and trust in God. Lets make 2025 a year where we are going to push more into God so that the faith in us can overflow into others. The anointing that breaks the yoke lives in you, its the Christ in you which simply means the anointed one. So as you fill your cup by spending time praying and reading the word that helps others to also breakthrough. People are seeking for the power, love and peace in the mind that only comes from the Holy Spirit which works through you.
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.
By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.
By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.
All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future.
By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons, and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff.
By faith Joseph, when his end was near, spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and gave instructions concerning the burial of his bones.
By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.
By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.
By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched around them for seven days.
By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient.
And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated—the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.
These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
FAITH STARTS WITH A DECISION WITHIN. THAT YOU HEAR A WORD FROM GOD AND YOU ACT ON THAT WORD OF GOD.
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.”
“I, even I, am he who comforts you.
Who are you that you fear mere mortals,
human beings who are but grass,
that you forget the Lord your Maker,
who stretches out the heavens
and who lays the foundations of the earth,
that you live in constant terror every day
because of the wrath of the oppressor,
who is bent on destruction?
For where is the wrath of the oppressor?
The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked advance against me
to devour me,
it is my enemies and my foes
who will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
