Luke 15
It’s hard to convince someone they’re lost if they think they’re saved
That’s what’s going on here in Romans 2

You’re no better than them (1-3)

You condemn yourself when self-righteousness rules your heart (1)
The standard of God is the truth (2)
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
You’re not being compared to the righteousness of the people in Romans 1:18-32 you are being compared to God’s righteousness
You’re guilty of the same sin (3)

God’s Blessing (4-11)

What’s God’s response to all the wickedness?
Goodness, patience, mercy (4)
You will be judged according to your deeds
This is not in terms of salvation
Consistent character
There is no partiality with God
A shocker for the Jew
Good news for the Gentile

To whom much is given much is required (12-24)

Circumcision (25-29)
