I. Trials and Joy +

Trials
can catch you off guard
can be discouraging
can be confusing
Joy
not told to enjoy the pain
not a temporary happiness
Joy sees the end result

II. Unknown and Faith =

Unknown
Why am I going through this?
How can this produce good?
What am I supposed to do?
Faith
God knows.
God promises.
Ask God in Faith.

III. Growth and Maturity

Patience
Character
Strength for the future
Wisdom
The fear of God
Experience
Stability
Strength in the storm
singleness of mind (spiritual focus)

How do we view our lives?

Through our relationship to Jesus and our service to Him?
Through a selfish focus of self-interest and pleasing the flesh?
