The Fulfillment of Prophecy
The Fulfillment of Prophecy
1 The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; 2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;
22 All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth. They said, “Is not this Joseph’s son?”

11 He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him.
57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “Prophets are not without honor except in their own country and in their own house.”

25 But the truth is, there were many widows in Israel in the time of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a severe famine over all the land; 26 yet Elijah was sent to none of them except to a widow at Zarephath in Sidon. 27 There were also many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and is generous to all who call on him.
34 Then Peter began to speak to them: “I truly understand that God shows no partiality, 35 but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.
Call to Action
Call to Action
Reflect: Spend time this week prayerfully considering where you might have drawn boundaries around God's love. Are there people or groups you've excluded, even unconsciously?
Reach Out: Identify someone in your life who is different from you – perhaps in belief, background, or lifestyle. Make a genuine effort to connect with them, to listen and understand their story.
Respond: Look for practical ways to extend God's love beyond your comfort zone. This might mean volunteering in a community unlike your own, advocating for the marginalized, or simply showing kindness to someone you've previously overlooked.
