Terry (Tator) Davis and Maci Croker

**Who gives this women to this man?
Welcome and Opening Remarks
Officiant:
Dearly beloved,
We are gathered here in the presence of God, family, and friends to celebrate one of life’s greatest moments—the union of Terry Davis and Maci Croker in holy matrimony.
Marriage is a gift from God, a sacred covenant designed to reflect His love and commitment to us. The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 5:31-32 (KJV):
“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”
Today, Terry and Maci are here to affirm that love and commitment, seeking God’s blessing on their union.
Let us begin this ceremony with prayer.
Opening Prayer
Officiant:
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for bringing Terry and Maci together, for the love they share, and for the covenant they are about to enter. We ask for Your presence to be in this place. May You bless this union and guide them to honor You in their life together. Let their love for each other reflect Your love for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Declaration of Intent
Officiant:
Terry and Maci, the covenant of marriage is not to be entered into lightly but reverently, with full understanding of the responsibilities it brings.
Terry, will you take Maci to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love her, comfort her, honor her, and keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, as long as you both shall live?
Tery:
I will.
Officiant:
Maci, will you take Terry to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love him, comfort him, honor him, and keep him in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, as long as you both shall live?
Maci:
I will.
Scripture Reading
We now turn to the Word of God for guidance on the beauty and purpose of marriage.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (KJV) says:
“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.”
Terry and Maci, as you begin your married life together, let your love always be patient, kind, and enduring, just as this passage teaches.
Exchange of Vows
(Couple faces each other, holding hands.)
Terry: Repeat after me:
I, Terry, take you, Maci, to be my wedded wife.
To have and to hold, from this day forward,
For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer,
In sickness and in health, to love and to cherish,
Till death do us part, according to God’s holy ordinance.
And thereto, I pledge you my faith.
Maci: Repeat after me:
I, Maci, take you, Terry, to be my wedded husband.
To have and to hold, from this day forward,
For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer,
In sickness and in health, to love and to cherish,
Till death do us part, according to God’s holy ordinance.
And thereto, I pledge you my faith.
Charge to Terry and Maci
Terry and Maci, as you stand before God, family, and friends on this sacred day, I charge you to honor the covenant you have made today. Marriage is not simply a contract; it is a divine covenant established by God. This bond you share is to reflect the love of Christ and His church—a love that is sacrificial, unconditional, and eternal.
Terry, as a husband, you are called to lead your home in love and humility, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it (Ephesians 5:25, KJV). Love Maci selflessly, protect her, pray for her, and guide her in faith.
Maci, as a wife, you are called to support and honor Terry, just as the church honors Christ (Ephesians 5:22-24, KJV). Be his encourager, his helpmeet, and his partner in every season of life.
Together, may your marriage be built on the unshakable foundation of Jesus Christ. May you be quick to forgive, steadfast in love, and always seek the Lord in prayer. Keep His Word as your guide, His love as your example, and His Spirit as your source of strength.
Let your home be a sanctuary where Christ is glorified, where love abounds, and where joy overflows. Remember, a threefold cord is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12, KJV). With God at the center of your marriage, you can face every trial and celebrate every victory.
This is your charge: to love one another deeply, faithfully, and steadfastly, reflecting the covenant you have made before God today.
Prayer of Blessing for Terry and Maci
Officiant:
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with gratitude and reverence, lifting up Terry and Maci as they begin their journey together as husband and wife. Lord, You are the author of love, the designer of marriage, and the source of all blessings. We ask for Your divine favor and guidance over their union.
Bless Terry as he leads his home with wisdom, patience, and grace. Strengthen him to be a man after Your own heart, seeking to love Maci as Christ loves His church.
Bless Maci as she supports and encourages Terry with kindness, faithfulness, and gentleness. Help her to be a virtuous woman, a crown to her husband, and a light in their home.
Lord, we ask that You guard their hearts and minds, unite them in purpose, and draw them closer to You every day. May their love grow stronger with each passing year, and may they always seek You as the source of their strength and joy.
Father, surround their home with peace and protection. Bless them in their work, their health, and their future family. Let their marriage be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness to all who know them.
We dedicate Terry and Maci to You and ask that You pour out Your abundant blessings upon them, now and forevermore. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Closing Exhortation:
Terry and Maci, as you leave this ceremony today, know that God goes before you, walks with you, and surrounds you. Walk together in His love, and may your marriage be a light to the world.
Foot Washing
As a statement of humility toward God and his bride, Terry has decided to wash Maci’s feet as a commitment to God and to her.
Exchange of Rings
Officiant:
The wedding ring is a symbol of love and commitment, a reminder of the unending covenant you make today.
(Officiant holds the rings.)
Officiant:
Terry, place this ring on Maci’s finger and repeat after me:
With this ring, I thee wed.
And with all my love and faithfulness, I give you my heart.
Officiant:
Maci, place this ring on Terry’s finger and repeat after me:
With this ring, I thee wed.
And with all my love and faithfulness, I give you my heart.
Pronouncement
Officiant:
By the authority vested in me as a minister of the Gospel Jesus Christ and in the presence of God and these witnesses, I now pronounce you husband and wife.
Terry, you may kiss your bride.
Blessing and Closing Prayer
Officiant:
Let us pray.
Lord Jesus, we thank You for this beautiful union and ask that You bless Terry and Maci as they begin their life together. May their marriage be rooted in Your love, guided by Your Word, and strengthened by Your grace. Fill their home with joy, peace, and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Presentation of the Couple
Officiant:
It is my honor to introduce, for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Terry and Maci Davis!
Congratulations to Terry and Maci on their special day!
Now we will adjourn to the reception. Terry and Maci have expressed their desire to take communion and have extended an opportunity for family and friends to partake if you would like. Pleas join us!
The Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper, also called Communion, is a sacred ordinance that commemorates the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and reminds believers of His body and blood shed for the remission of sins.
1 Corinthians 11:28-29 (KJV):
“But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.”
Luke 22:19-20 (KJV) tells us:
“And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.”
Prayer of Consecration
Officiant:
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who gave His body and shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins. Bless these elements as we partake, and help us to do so with reverence and gratitude, remembering the sacrifice made for us. May this moment draw us closer to You and to one another. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Breaking and Distributing the Bread
Distribute the bread to the congregation. Once everyone has received it, lead them in eating together.
On the night He was betrayed, Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying:
“Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.” (1 Corinthians 11:24, KJV)
Let us eat this bread together, remembering the body of Christ broken for us.
Sharing the Cup
Distribute the cup to the congregation. Once everyone has received it, lead them in drinking together.
Officiant:
In the same manner, Jesus took the cup after supper, saying:
“This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.” (1 Corinthians 11:25, KJV)
Officiant:
Let us drink this cup together, remembering the blood of Christ shed for the remission of our sins.
Reflection and Prayer of Thanksgiving
Officiant:
As often as we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes (1 Corinthians 11:26, KJV).
Let us reflect on the depth of Christ’s love and the promise of His return.
Closing Prayer:
Lord Jesus, we thank You for this time of communion, for Your sacrifice, and for the hope we have in You. As we leave this table, help us to walk in Your love, live in Your grace, and share the good news of salvation with others. May we always remember the price You paid and the victory we have through Your resurrection. In Your precious name, Amen.
Encouragement for the Congregation
Officiant:
As we go, let us remember the great love of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and walk in the light of His grace, until we gather again at His table in glory.
