Example of woman and groceries.
God did it. God did it. God did it.
God desires to bless HIs people. God chooses to bless in unique ways, it is our job to not create blessing, but to receive. This often creates a unique perspective of ourselves, our Lord, and the world around us. This can be counterintuitive at times, still the Lord works in mysterious ways, and those ways are BETTER. Jesus teaches about gaining a proper internal, divine, and external perspective.
INTRO TO BEATITUDES
Jesus is not looking for this type of person, but over time we are being shaped into this type of person
God uses the counterintuitive to confuse the wise.
God does not look for a certain standard, but He transforms into who you were designed to be.
The word “blessed” is like saying congratulations.
Inward Shift
Inward Shift
“God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
One fundamental function of faith is the recognition of a desperate need for Him.
God blesses those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
The closer I get to Jesus, the more I realize I have fallen short.
God blesses those who are humble,
for they will inherit the whole earth.
Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
The humility of Jesus provides the example we need to live our daily live.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Dissatisfaction leads to satisfaction.
Inward Shift Recap: We must recognize that we have a desperate need for Him especially when we have fallen short and because we have all fallen short we must remain humble and crave a right relationship with God.

God blesses those who are merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Woman caught in adultery.
But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
for they will see God.
Cycle of Shame
Pure in spirit isn’t perfection, it’s about a pursuit of honesty.
He made no distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts through faith.
God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God.
Peace is the word shalom which means harmony.
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
Upward Shift Recap: We must trust that God gives us mercy and we should extend mercy to people around us while being honest with ourselves understanding that faith in Jesus is what creates purity and because we have been cleansed we should always desire harmony in our world.
Outward Shift
Outward Shift
God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.
God places us in domains that are filled with opportunity to reflect His glory.
Give temporary thoughts to temporary places, give permanent thoughts to permanent places.
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
YOU WERE MADE FOR THIS MOMENT!
When God places you in a moment to reflect His glory, you don’t have to justify Him, you don’t have to rationalize the moment, sometimes you just say God did it. God did it. God did it.
For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.
