PR O V E R B S PROVERBS W i s d o m W i s d o m f o f o r r a l l a l l Proverbs 1:1 (ESV) The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel: Proverbs 11:22 (ESV) Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman without discretion. Proverbs 10:4 (ESV) A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. Colossians 4:5 (ESV) Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Wisdom is required for dealing with non-Christians particularly when it comes to time management. Proverbs 8:33–36 (ESV) Hear instruction and be wise, and do not 34 neglect it. Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, 35 waiting beside my doors. For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor 36 from the LORD, but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.” Proverbs 28:11 (ESV) A rich man is wise in his own eyes, but a poor man who has understanding will find him out. Proverbs 2:4-6 If you seek it [wisdom] like silver and search for 5 it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of 6 God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; Proverbs 8:17 (ESV) I [wisdom] love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. James 1:5 (ESV) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. Proverbs 9:4–6 (ESV) “Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” To him who lacks sense she [wisdom] says, 5“Come, eat of my bread and drink of the 6 wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.” Ephesians 1:17 (ESV) that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, Proverbs 2:1–7 (ESV) yes, if you call out for insight and raise your 4 voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it 5 as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of 6 God. For the LORD gives wisdom; Proverbs 30:1–3 (ESV) The words of Agur son of Jakeh. The oracle. The man declares, I am weary, O God; I am weary, O God, and 2 worn out. Surely I am too stupid to be a man. I have not the 3 understanding of a man. I have not learned wisdom, nor have I knowledge of the Holy One.
