God’s plan

Jeremiah 29:11–13 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

I would like to speak about God’s plan, and I am more than certain that God has a plan and purpose for each and everyone of us. There are no coincidences when it comes to this faith walk. Things don’t just happen by happenstance. God has a permissive will, and a sovereign will, but no matter what His will will be done.

Our free will is found inside God’s permissive will, and that is where we believe we control our destiny. We make plans, reservations, arrangements, and even save dates for events in the near or distant future. Yes it is inside our free will where we transgress against Gods law. It is our free will that keeps our do wrong from doing right. It is our free will that allows some to see the creative design of Gods creation, and still say that God does not exist. It is our free will that allows us to chose to accept or reject God. That very same God that sent His son born in the likeness of sinful man with the sole purpose of redeeming sinners. Saints let me say to all with a listening ear God has a plan.

Oxford defines plan when used as a noun, as a detailed proposal for doing or achieving something. Yet as a verb the definition is: to decide on and arrange in advance. The bible uses words like foreknew covenant predestination; when eluding to His plan. Whether it is the subject object or the action; God has a plan for man.

An unknown author once penned a poem “Black like me” How does it feel to be us, the back of the bus, picking cotton for free: you don’t know what it means to be black like me. Colored, spade, porch monkey, tar baby, nigga, niggra, nigger; you don’t seem to understand the slanders I tolerate to be black like me. Black like me welfare family tree, can I come on your street, can I sit at your counter to eat? Mama why did my teacher skip all the pages of the people that look just like me? Child you know I don’t leave it to others to teach you how you came to be, and that’s why I’m going to make sure you know what it means to be black like me.

We must have a concerted effort to not only train up our children, but to restore rescue and lift up all of Gods people. We have been charged with lifting up the blood stained banner, and spreading the gospel. That is the good news that God still hears a sinners prayer. The good news that there is Someone that is concerned about the Lost, the least, and the left out. The good news is you haven’t went so far that Gods grace can’t find you. The good news that although millions have come there’s still room for one. Come one come all, because salvation is free, but it sure ain’t cheap.

I heard that “if you don’t learn history: you’re doomed to repeat it.” Black history is not only for us, but its American history, and the history of the world.

The 29th chapter of Jeremiah is a letter of encouragement to the exiles taken away by Nebuchadnezzar, and punishment to those left behind in Jerusalem, namely the false prophets and traitors to the people.

There is a clear and present danger in not giving God His praise, and not using your God given gifts for the up building of His Kingdom here on earth. Nevertheless the chosen people of God had done just that.

THE calamities which God inflicts upon mankind in this world are intended to bring them to repentance; and though he often removes his rod in anger, when he sees that it produces not the desired effect, yet he often continues to punish till he sees that the heart is humbled for its iniquity

They had forgotten about God, and had went away and worshipped other God’s. They had forgotten

They had forgotten the Lord who is their Shepard, and the sole reason why they will never be in want, they had forgotten about the God that had delivered them out of Egypt, they had forgotten about staring down a peculiar predicament in past times of having to much water to drink on one side and Pharaoh’s prancing army on the other, and Kronos turned to Kairos, and a faithful God reached out His hand of deliverance, and parted the Red Sea allowing them to pass on dry land.

It’s not a pie in the sky fantasy: even believers will experience heartbreak pain and suffering. My brothers and my sisters yes this walk won’t always be rainbows and butterflies. The enemy will attack you, weapons will be formed, but they won’t be successful. I read somewhere that He will prepare a table before in the presence of my enemies. So haters watch me work with the favor of God on my side.

Gods plan is that no weapon that has been formed against us shall prosper. That’s why David could say though I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for Thou art with me

Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me; the rod as for correction or discipline and the staff was symbolic of protection and instruction. There wasn’t two separate instruments. The rod was the staff, it had a hook on it. He rod was for discipline, because sheep might stray away or just need a tap. If the sheep wondered off too far the Shepard might take the rod and break one of its legs to keep it in place. The hook was to pull it back in place, and if a sheep fell into the waters.

David understood His discipline could comfort, because His correction comes from love. I make mistakes and fall short, but I have found comfort in being a witness that He makes my stumbling blocks my steeping stones, and each setback I’m being setup to rise up a little higher. So haters watch me on me if you must, but I’m going to shine so bright that even haters are blessed by my light. I’m convicted convinced and confident that if God be for me no one can stand against me. No imps or simps snakes or fakes, because we as believers walk by faith: knowing that our steps have been ordered.

Yet these people much like some of us had forgotten about God, because we were having things our way. When you’re doing good: it’s easy to forget about the God of our weary years, and our silent tears. You might find yourself living your best life, thinking you got it all under control, and then God will allow calamity to hit, because warning always comes before destruction. Your ice might not look as frosty as it used to, food just didn’t taste like it used to. Those things that once brought you joy, you just didn’t feel like doing them anymore. If I can keep it real: you might even fell like your blessings have turned into burdens.

When you are on God’s radar He has a way of getting your attention, and forcing you to talk to him. When you belong to Him you know where to go to when you need answers.

The captives pinned a letter attributed to Jeremiah in which they remembered God.

Psalm 137:1–2 “By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, When we remembered Zion. We hanged our harps Upon the willows in the midst thereof.” Those very items that had brought them joy, and so much joy that they had taken them from the temple. They had carried them from the temple, but when your heart ain’t in it.

Psalm 137:3–4 “For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; And they that wasted us required of us mirth, Saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. How shall we sing the Lord’s song In a strange land?”

My brothers and my sisters if you ever find yourself in a strange land, and feeling like God has forgotten about. Let me tell you if you ever feel like you can’t get a prayer thru, or maybe G O D just isn’t listening, you in good company.

Saints don’t let it slip by you, because they knew who had let them carry them away.

God’s plan for man is found inside the scriptures. He has made known His desire for all humanity throughout the holy writings. The very beginning of writings gives us a glimpse of Gods intentions for man. There was a daily dialogue with God and man, there was daily fellowship.

Happy wife happy life, or happy spouse happy house, but Eve wasn’t happy until Adam bit from the forbidden fruit. Eve and Adam were happy when they were both off the path God had for them.

Adam was complete before Eve was created. God doesn’t do anything halfway. He made woman from man’s rib, and Adam said this is now bone of my bone and flesh of flesh. He listened to Eve and not God. He sinned because he followed his flesh and not the spirit.

Ever since then man has been trying to fulfill and please the desires of his flesh.

I came here to tell you no matter how far you’ve strayed from the path Gods grace and mercy has been chasing you down. God Almighty! His rod and His staff will comfort you.

I read somewhere that the gifts and the calling come without repentance they are irrevocable. God has not changed His mind about you. You might have dreams that have not yet been fulfilled, but a blessing delayed is not a blessing denied. He’s a promise keeper, and I heard He’s a burden bearer. He’s a heavy load carrier, He’ll be a bridge over troubled water, and an anchor in the time of storm.

You are part of the plan and purpose for Gods new heaven. He’s making a list He ain’t got to check it twice for He knows who been naughty and who’s been nice.
