Now, this one is on Anthony, and actually, Anthony did most of my scriptural research on this as he sent many passages of Scripture. The subject tonight is both incredible and scary if you take in the totality of Scripture.

1. INTRODUCTION.

The shedding of innocent has a terrible price tag associated with it not only for the individual but also for a society that does not protect its citizens from the murderers.
Romans 13:4 “For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.”
Governments and rulers are instituted for an orderly society. Specifically, governments are supposed to execute God’s wrath on those who practice evil, but in the case of the United States of America and many other nations, instead of executing God’s wrath on those who practice evil, our government sanctions the evil that demands God’s justice.
Let me give you some passages.
Exodus 20:13 ““You shall not murder.”
John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
Murder, in the Bible, is the intentional killing of an innocent person. In our criminal code, we call it criminal homicide and abortion.
The Bible views human life as a sacred trust from God, and Jesus Christ said that al murder originates in the heart of man because of Satan, and the Bible says the murderer should be put to death.
Genesis 9:6 ““Whoever sheds man’s blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man.”
Leviticus 24:17 “‘Whoever kills any man shall surely be put to death.”
It is pretty simple.
We are quick to say that God’s Word never changes, and that is true, so if murder demanded capital punishment in God’s never changing law, does it still demand it today? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
Murder is still a capital offense.
Let’s go back to the 10 Commandments.
Commandments 1-5 describe how man can have a right relationship with God. Commandments 6-10 describe how man can have a lawful and orderly society, and those set of commandments begins with, “You shall not murder.”
God is basically telling Moses that an orderly society is impossible if innocent life is not protected. If I had the time, I would show you how neglecting the first 5 commandments has led to this disorderly society, but we will save that.
If you read, and I have given you a sheet of all theses Scriptural references plus some so you can study what God says, especially if you doubt what God thinks about the shedding of innocent blood, if you read 1 Kings 2:28-34, you will see that Solomon had Joab killed. Yes, the same Joab that was a mighty general for David. Solomon actually had Joab killed at the horns of the altar.
That sounds bad, but dear friend, Joab got what he deserved. He had years of innocent blood on his hands. Even though Joab was a great warrior and a trusted confidant of David, it was David who told Solomon to kill Joab.
Do you remember how the Bible describes David? The Bible says that David was a man after God’s own heart, yet it was David who placed a curse on Joab and Joab’s entire family.
2 Samuel 3:29 “Let it rest on the head of Joab and on all his father’s house; and let there never fail to be in the house of Joab one who has a discharge or is a leper, who leans on a staff or falls by the sword, or who lacks bread.””
If David was a man after God’s own heart, why would he pronounce such a curse on one so close to him?
(1) Joab tried to seat Adonijah as king instead of Solomon. (1st Kings 1).
(2) Joab murdered Abner. (2 Samuel 3:26-27).
(3) Joab murdered Amasa with a Judas-style betrayal. (2 Samuel 20:9-10).
(4) Joab disobeyed Davi’s command to spare Absalom. (2 Samuel 18).
The only question is, and I do not have the answer, is why David waited so long before executing God’s justice.
Joab was guilty of innocent blood, and God’s Law had already prescribed what he deserved.
David, however, cursed Joab’s entire family. Why?
Numbers 32:23 “But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the Lord; and be sure your sin will find you out.”
Galatians 6:7–8 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
I say this a lot. You are free to choose your sin, but you are not free to choose your consequences, and you are always going to reap more than you sow.
You might think that that is just Old Testament stuff with no application to our society, but you would be wrong. Why? Because God never changes. If murder demanded retribution in like manner in the camp of Israel, it still does today. If shedding innocent blood affected the nation of Israel, it still does today.

2. The Curse of the Jews.

I know the Jews are God’s covenant people, but for 2,000 years they have lived more under a curse than a covenant, and the reason is that as a people, they shed innocent blood and pronounced their own curse.
Matthew 27:25 “And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.””
No one has ever been more innocent than Jesus Christ. Even the reprobate Pilate could find no fault with Jesus, but the Jews wanted blood. The Jews demanded the innocent blood of Jesus, and with Joab, their cry that day has affected generations of Jews.
In demanding the blood of Jesus, the Jews placed a curse on themselves as a people. Jesus knew it, and He wept bitterly as He rode into Jerusalem telling the Jews that they had missed the time of His visitation. (Luke 19:44).
Yes, the Jews are God’s covenant people, but think of the price they have paid for that innocent blood, and the price they will continue to pay.
(1) Jerusalem was destroyed by Titus in AD 70 with almost 1.5 million Jews being killed.
(2) Adolf Hitler in his Final Solution almost annihilated the Jews of Europe between 1938-1945 with 6 million plus being killed.
(3) The Jews live under constant threat of warfare.
(4) Countless Jews will be murdered in the future at the hands of the Antichrist. (Rev. 12, Matt. 24).
There is so much here that I could say, but we do not have time for a history or prophecy lesson. By the way, all these nations that spilled innocent Jewish blood are going to get their comeuppance at Armageddon.
The Jews have suffered a terrible fate for shedding the innocent blood of Christ, and they will continue suffering until they recognize the One whom they pierced.
Zechariah 12:10 ““And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.” (vv. 11-14).
The Jews who remain after the Great Tribulation, and it will not be many of them (144,000) will mourn what they did to Jesus. (Rev. 14).
It is price they will have paid for the innocent blood of Jesus.

3. The Curse of the Gentile Nations.

Is there a curse on the Gentile nations for shedding innocent blood? YES!!!!
And that includes the United States of America.
Seriously, we look around us at all the loss of innocent blood and wonder why does God not do something. 60 million babies aborted and seemingly no response from God, but dear friend, that is the shedding of innocent blood and there is a curse attached to it that will be paid in kind and then some because of the Law of the Harvest.
Countless murders in the United States of America, and God seemingly sets idly by. Genocide all over the world, and God does nothing. Well, dear friend, God is doing something.
At this moment, we live in the age of grace, and today, God is calling a special people to be saved.
Ephesians 3:8–9 “To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;”
2 Peter 3:9–10 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.”
In this age, God’s justice is being restrained by His grace. Actually, because you and I are still here, God’s wrath is being withheld.
2 Thessalonians 2:7 “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.”
Do not think for one minute that God is overlooking the shedding of innocent blood.
Revelation 18:5 “For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.”
God is keeping a scorecard, and the Gentile nations of the world that comprise the evil Babylonian system of this world are going to get theirs one of these days. The blood of those innocent babies is crying from the ground for justice, and God is going to grant that justice one of these days.
This age of grace will end, and when it does, the world will be judged for failing to live up to God’s demands for an orderly society among other things, chiefly the rejection of Jesus Christ. This world has never sen the ferocity of judgment that is going to be released at the conclusion of the age of grace.
Matthew 24:21–22For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”
The age of grace is withholding God’s wrath, but that does not mean His wrath is not coming. It is the curse of shedding innocent blood.
Really, it is a fascinating look at Scripture.
The whole Bible boils down to this simple truth.
You will either be saved by innocent blood, or you will be cursed by it. The innocent blood of Jesus will either save you or damn you to hell.
Let me close by giving you an example.
Take the abortion industry of the “civilized” nations of the world.
Now, I always say, and I might be wrong, that there is a difference between the abortion industry and a young lady that has an abortion, a young lady that seemingly has no other options because she feels abandoned.
The abortion industry is a tool of the Devil whose shedding of innocent blood has already stacked up to heaven.
By the way, and I usually do not make political statements, but it is time for me to say this. How a Christian can vote Democrat is beyond me, especially when 204 Democrats the other day voted against giving life-saving medical care to a baby that survived an abortion. I would not want to be in the shoes of those 204 for all the gold in Fort Knox.
Now, a young lady who has had an abortion can be forgiven of that sin because she now lives in the age of grace, and it is not God’s will that any should perish, but those butchers in the abortion industry have innocent blood covering their hands.
You know we talk about how evil Hitler and Stalin were, and they were evil, but the United States of America has murdered more babies than the number of people murdered by Hitler and Stalin, yet in the US, we have millions that say killing that innocent baby is a choice and not the taking of innocent life, and the waters of God’s wrath are pounding against the dam of His grace, and one day grace is going to give way to wrath.
Dear friend, God views choice differently than society does. If you do not believe me, ask Judas, Judas, and Cain about shedding innocent blood.
I am telling you that I have only scratched the surface of this topic. I just did a drive by. I did not even hit on what the New Testament says about murder.
1 John 3:15 “Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.”
Dear friend, I am telling you the great downfall of mankind has been protecting innocent blood, and God has not and will not overlook it.
