What is an Evangelist?
Evangelist: Someone Who Proclaims The Good News
What do you mean The Unfinished Mission?
WE ARE CALLED TO SHARE THE GOSPEL!
(Matthew 28:18–20 “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”)
How Do We Prepare ourselves to Evanglize?

1. ALWAYS START WITH PRAYER!

James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

2. MAKE A PERSONAL CONNECTION WITH THEM

Luke 19:5–9 “And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully. And when they saw it, they all grumbled, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.” And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham.”

3. ASK QUESTIONS

Acts 8:26–31
In this passage, we see Philip's readiness to respond to God's leading. Perhaps you might encourage the congregation to be attentive and obedient to the Holy Spirit’s guidance in their everyday encounters. Highlight how God strategically places us in people's lives to be His witnesses, challenging believers to listen and act upon divine opportunities.

4. Explaining with Excellence

Acts 8:32–40
This part of Philip's story shows how explaining the Scriptures can change lives. Maybe you could focus on the importance of understanding and articulating the Gospel clearly. Encourage believers to familiarize themselves with key Scriptures and be ready to explain them patiently and clearly to those who are searching for truth.

5. Ready to Reason

1 Peter 3:15
You might emphasize the importance of being prepared to give reasons for our hope with gentleness and respect. Challenge believers to cultivate a heart and mind ready to engage in thoughtful dialogue, speaking truth without compromise yet with compassion. In doing so, we demonstrate the grace and truth of Christ effectively.

6. Unashamed and Unyielding

Romans 1:16
Highlight the power of the Gospel as God's means of salvation, urging believers not to be ashamed. Perhaps encourage your congregation to confidently share their faith, as the Gospel holds transformative power that transcends societal pressures. Reinforce that each witness, anchored in the truth of Christ, becomes a light in the world’s darkness.
