The House on the Sand

The one who hears but does not obey Christ is building their house on the sand.
1 Corinthians 3:11 “For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Luke 6:46 ““Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?” (See Matthew 7:21)
James 1:22 “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
A house may look sturdy, but if it doesn’t have a strong foundation it will fall.
Proverbs 30:12 “There are those who are clean in their own eyes but are not washed of their filth.”
2 Timothy 3:5 “having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”
Titus 1:16 “They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.”
James 2:19–20 “You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?”
Many false believers have been revealed through the storms of life.
See Matthew 13:19-22...
All who have the foundation of sand will fall on the Day of Judgment.
Romans 2:5 “But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.”
2 Thessalonians 1:8–9 “in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,”
Revelation 20:15 “And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
