Subtopic : It will Drown

Bible Passage: Exodus 14:26–30

Summary: This passage narrates the moment of Israel's liberation, where God commands Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea, and the waters miraculously return to engulf the pursuing Egyptians. This signifies God's ultimate rescue of His people and His judgment against their oppressors, highlighting His sovereignty and faithfulness in delivering those He loves from bondage.
Application: to empower believers to recognize the presence of God in their struggles and the assurance of His deliverance. It encourages individuals facing personal battles to trust in God's timing and intervention, promoting the belief that no situation is too dfficult for God to resolve as He did during the Exodus.
Big Idea: When we step out in faith, God brings freedom by performing the miraculous in our lives, transforming our dire circumstances into testimonies of His grace and power.
INTRODUCTION : In our lives we have encounters , events and moments that can sometimes alter our lives in either a positive or negative way . Its inevitable young or old you will face obstacles , mountains and valley are apart of the path of this journey in Christ . Mary Mary has a song that says nobody told the road would be EASY but I don't believe he brought me this far to leave me . in my teenage years I song this song cause it had a nice melody but now as an adult I understand the message behind the lyrics . Oh yeah we all love those hymns like amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like we didn't know what we singing formal at early age but life will bring you back to those because where would I be if he hadn't saved a wretched sinner like me . Regardless of what IT was that brought you come to a place of real relationship with God ultimately that's what God wants . He wants us to run to him but many of us feel bound , shackled , oppressed and stuck. Yes US believers , christians , the dancers the ones that buck around the church the ones singing and playing the piano and drums the ushers from the pulpit to the back door at some point we have felt bound. If someone told everyday would be sunny they lied to you . In order to get somewhere in God you have to go through something. Which brings me to my topic this evening . If you could help me preach and look at your and say “What had me bound God has drowned” oh you ought to say it again with some power WHAT HAD ME BOUND GOD HAS DROWN.

1. Living Bound : Ex 14:26

We meet the people of Israel a critical point in their quest for liberation from the Egyptians by this time they have endured being enslaved by the Egyptians for over 100 years . They were oppressed because they outnumbered the Egpytians and in fear of the Israelites rising up against them the Egyptians forced them to be their slaves. But God raises Moses up and man that had made mistakes like murdering and Egyptian but God calls him to go get his people out of captivity by way of a unconsumed burning bush . Moses feeling unqualified initially rejects this task stated who am I to go Pharoah and command that he let the Israelites go . By this time the Israelites has become common with being slaves but never stopped crying out to God in despair for in Exodus
Maybe you can illustrate how God's command to Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea showcases that faith requires an active response. This moment emphasizes that while God works miraculously, He often calls upon us to take a step of faith, as Moses did, to align with His divine power. Encourage your listeners that their own faithful actions, prompted by trust in God, can set the stage for experiencing His deliverance in their lives.

2. Control Over Chaos

Exodus 14:27
You could suggest that this verse exemplifies how God's timing is perfect. As Moses stretches his hand, God causes the sea to return, highlighting His control over nature and history. Assure your audience that just as God orchestrated events for Israel's deliverance, He has a perfect plan for each of them. Our trust in His sovereignty and timing can bring peace in uncertain situations, knowing God's deliverance is both sure and well-timed.

3. Comprehensive Conquest

Exodus 14:28-30
Perhaps you can reflect on the comprehensive victory that God provides as the waters engulf the Egyptian army. This underscores God's total triumph over evil, preventing the oppressors from harming His people any longer. Encourage your congregation with the truth that through Christ, we too have the promise of victory over sin and spiritual enemies. God’s intervention leads to freedom, and His faithfulness ensures that no enemy can separate us from His love and purposes.
