This has been a crazy two weeks. I thank God I have the word of God to ground me.

The Psalmist said,
1  Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! 2  For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. 3  Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. 4  Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
I had to read that multiple times this week. The chaos, the tragedies, the noise that has been going on has really brought me to a point. Lord I stretch my hands to the no other help I know. I tho withdraw thyself from me whether shall I go?
Seems like evil players are having there way. The enemy is so busy right now. And we are only at the beginning of February.
We truly must stand strong in the faith. The only way we can do that is to know what the word of God says concerning us. In Psalm 37 the palmist is talking to us. This is a psalm of encouragement in difficult times.
It is no secret. People’s anxiety is up. The level of uncertainty is at a all time high! So much is coming at us. So we need a Psalm 37 today to remind us to Fret Not. This word fret is synonymous with worry, anxious, agonize, sorrow, anguish. These type of emotions can affect your health.
You may be losing sleep or blood pressure can be high. You can easily fall into sadness or depression. The Old testament call it a spirit of heaviness. The psalmist said in 119:28 28  My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word!
We need to be strengthen today with God’s word. We have to see ourselves as God sees us. We really are blessed( Favored by God)
Jesus taught in Matthew 5 in what is know as the beatitudes
We need to know that as blessed men and women of God we need to lean in to the word of God and take on the attributes that make us blessed.
So today we are going to lean in on Psalm 37. We are going to find the encouragement we need so we wont worry.
First of all
Don’t Worry About Evil Doers

1  Fret not thyself because of evildoers,

Neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2  For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,

And wither as the green herb.

Its clear the psalmist had seen those who were bent on evil prosper before his eyes. The Message Bible describes them as braggarts. Those who brag on themselves. Its funny how those who do evil really have no shame! They wrong people and hurt people and are callous about it. We see they do wrong and seems like no repercussion come their way. I am sure you know what I have seem come out of the White House this week has been troubling. People are being forced out of their jobs for simply doing their jobs. We are watching incompetent individuals being considered to lead agencies that will affect out national security, health and safety, military readiness and so much more. This obsession with DEI is really troubling. Diversity Equity and Inclusions only makes us stronger. News flash DEI is not a black thing its a people thing. White men are not the only people that can lead. DEI was put in place so that companies could not continue to put incompetent white men in positions while more qualified individuals would be over looked because America has a race problem. It has falsely pushed white is right and black get back but even more that if you did not look or act like the perceived standard of what they determined was right (White Male)then your ideas, thoughts, skills were not considered. That’s why Shirley Chisholm said if they they don’t give you a seat at the table bring a folding chair. Shirley Chisholm understood that racism was so universal in this country it has become the norm. She said, In the anti- black , anti-female and all forms of discrimination is anti-humanism.
Those in power will use evil to hold on to their position.
Secondly
We have to Trust in The Lord

Trust in the LORD, and do good;

So shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4  Delight thyself also in the LORD;

And he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5  commit thy way unto the LORD;

Trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

6  And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light,

And thy judgment as the noonday.

The palmist reminds us to trust in the Lord and do good. I learn in this journey to Trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not to my own understanding but in all my ways acknowledge Him as he shall direct out paths.
Isaiah said Trust in the Lord forever for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. Verse 3 is translated Trust in the Lord and do good, dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. When we trust in the Lord we become aquainted with FAITHFULNESS. Standing strong in the faith can only be done when we trust God. Trust means wholly depend on Jesus
Hymn writer said 1 I will trust in the Lord, I will trust in the Lord, I will trust in the Lord till I die.
Throughout the Bible we are exhorted again and again to trust in the Lord. We are warned against trusting in princes, in riches, or in ourselves; for all such trust is vain. Trusting in the Lord is represented as being safe, as blessed, and as producing very desirable results. To trust in the Lord with all our heart, we must wholly rely upon
God’s promises , wisdom, power, and love to help us in every circumstance. Human understanding is subject to error. God, on the other hand, sees and understands all. He is the One we can lean on and trust. We should trust the Lord with all our heart because human understanding is tainted by sin, limited wisdom, impulsive assumptions, and faulty emotions. We are not always right. Proverbs 14:12 reminds us of this: “There is a way that  seems  right to a man, but its end is the way of death”.
Sin taints our understanding and leads us to destruction. Paul wrote to the Corinthians
“Our knowledge is partial and incomplete” 1 Corinthians 13:9
)Should we base our understanding on what is partial, sinful, or destructive? Or should we trust in the God who is all-knowing ,all-powerful, all-wise, loving, and has good plans to guide, satisfy, and establish us.
God is worthy of our trust.
Finally
Learn to Wait on God

7  Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;

fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,

over the man who carries out evil devices!

8  Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!

Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.

9  For the evildoers shall be cut off,

but those who wait for the LORD shall inherit the land.

This is the hard part. Waiting on the Lord can cause anxiousness. But we know they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagles and the shall run and not be weary and walk and not faint.
Its clear we have to be still and wait patiently for Him. The 4 years may be crazy but we can’t get angry. We must maintain our Christian position. We will win in the end.
He will make our enemy our footstool.
He told the children of Israel
7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
8 “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
