Positioning Matters
Positioning Matters
Race car position in a car race Nascar for example is as important as the quality of the driver. Starting at the pole postion or the first position does several things. It keeps the other drivers behind you and you out of any wrecks that might happen. It gives you the chance to get out ahead and time to recover if you have to stop for a tire change or fuel. The greater amount of lead you build the farther your enemy is behind.
The Bible speakes of a race:
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Positioning matters.
I need to be in a position to find Jesus in the blindness of my sins when he walks by.
Mark 10:46-52
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
Blind Bartimaeus positioned himself in the right place and refused to allow the crowd around him to shush him and keep him in his darkness.
He knew he MUST FEEL JESUS never again might Jesus pass that way again.
I know we mention her often but the woman with the issue of blood knew she MUST FEEL JESUS. All her efforts had failed but she positioned herself that day to press through the last part of the crowd and simply touched the hem of his garment.
The woman at the well was positioned to give Jesus a cup of water but in the midst of that she realized that she must do more than be in his presence, she must drink of his spirit.
This is the Jesus that said he would never leave you nor forsake you
The last part of this scripture says” I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
The sin in your life acts as a curtain between you and Jesus. Separating YOU from the saviour.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Nothing but us can build a wall of sin between us and God. His love does not stop, but he can’t save what is held separate from him.
You need to feel Jesus, you need to feel Jesus
You might be walking off a drunk today, held helpless in the grip of beer, wine or whiskey. You need to feel Jesus. He can make you a brand new man. You don’t have to live in the grip of alcohol one more day.
You might be high on pills, meth, marijuana or any other drug. You need to feel Jesus. You don’t have to search for the peace in a high when you have the spirit of the prince of peace in your heart.
We need to empty our pockets, purses, cars and homes of all the ilegal pills, drugs, alcohol, cigerettes, dirty pictures, movies, witchcraft and all other ungodly things and lay them on the alter.
Repentance pulls aside the curtain and the Holy Ghost comes in.
Come on somebody meet me at this altar and let your weight of sin fall to the altar. You need peace and you need the infilling of the Holy Ghost.
Positioning means everything and God has put you in the pole position today to allow your life to change.
You don’t have to leave here today with the addiction
with the fear
with the sense of being lost
Its time to feel Jesus and today is your day.
