Intro
Verses 1-6
Verse 1
Explain that Moses was a shepherd and this is not something viewed well in Egyptian society
Not sure why it’s called Mountain of God.
Verses 2-5
Angel of The Lord
Better translated messenger
Was the presence of God Himself.
Verse 6
God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Moses’ response to not look at God.
Transition: So Moses finds himself in the presence of God. But what is God’s purpose for going to Moses. It’s a pretty big one.
Verses 7-9
God heard and cared for the Israelites. He knows what is going on in our lives and he cares for us as well.
God keeps his promises
Transition: After so many years, God has heard his people’s cry. But what is His plan. But why is He going to Moses who is not even in Egypt if he is concerned about the people in Egypt. It’s because He has a big plan for Moses.
Verses 10-12
Verse 10
God gave Moses a special call that was indeed a big task.
Verse 11
Moses responds with doubt as many of us would.
Verse 12
God never answers who Moses is, He answers who He is.
God would prove Himself faithful, as He was already doing.
